A placing is the issue of new shares when companies are looking to raise money. Usually new or 'primary' shares are only offered to institutions, which is what makes a placing different to a rights issue, where the shares are offered to existing shareholders.

When you buy shares in a company which already exists in the market, these are known as secondary shares. Primary shares are new shares issued by a company for example, through an IPO or a placing - the key difference is that with a placing, the offer is not open to everyone, only investment organisations such as banks, funds and accredited investors.

I had a sharedealing account with EQI, they asked me if i wanted to be informed of upcoming company share placings, i was not interesed so took it no further so don't know if advanced knowledge or not. But some on here have had shares in placings in the past but i don't know the background to them.

I see mr 1.7 mill is back for a second go. he was in Thursday in at .63 and out Friday at .647

Hi fenner66,

What brings you here to post everyday? Based on your posts, I assume you do not own shares, so why bother showing up to post? Life is too short, and surely you must have other interests.

I stop by every few days simply because I own some shares, and I am always open to other perspectives, but you seem to be antagonistically mesmerized by a company that 99.999% of investors know nothing about, and could not care less about.

I just don't understand the fixation.

SL I have been reading the story here for about what 6 months ?
I had to catch up, not reading through 000's of posts but reading around the subject and coming to my own conclusions.

Why is it, in that time TOM has done nothing to convince me it will ever get CORT off the ground.
Delay
Delay
Not enough funds
No RNS about license renewals
Balance sheet a disaster
No finance for even 10% of overpriced land , but instead a sort of farm out agreement

No more mention of RF or Turbo apparently Covid stops this from happening - but everything thing else can ....

It excuse after excuse , moving sands , always moving the goalposts...

Not seen anything of an investment case....


Meanwhile 3000+ companies on the exchange have projects , make money , pay dividends etc....

IF any deal gets done , its a last minute gun to the head deal
These are the terms , your desperate , take it or leave it.

And TOM with no capability are hoping someone else does the drilling for them on their would be overpriced land , being Nothing like CORT ....

If you don't want to believe people on here, give Novum Securities (Tomco's broker) a call on 020 7399 9400 and become a client of theirs and ask to be notified whenever Tomco are working on future placings.
