Chrome spot price on a serious move through 200 see Tharisa Twitter feed. They have previously posted a China chrome feed stock chart which had taken a serious dive so not surprising. It's going to be a good year!

Have looked into this - still think its worth much more than price is reflecting. Have written my thoughts down here...

Cat - possibly partially priced in then but with Chrome now North of 180 and Palladium/Rhodium strong especially with the threat of sanctions hanging over Russia I see this going quite a bit higher. My personal target remains North of 200.

There has been sector acquisition activity recently so this move might make us more attractive to a predator. Just need to sign up Zim now!

FWIW, I agree that this news is worth a lot on the share price than a few %. Might be a slow-burner as it may take a while for people to work it out...

Hi MartinFrench!
They couldn't do it earlier. There was a "test" court case recently that has opened up this possibility.

It will probably take some comments from Simon Thompson to move it higher off this good news

Interesting that the spread between the joburg shares and lse is back to flat, I wonder if there was some locals buying ahead of this ...

sorry but "buying out" does not sound like a share swap.

This is what "Tharisa" (i.e. the company, Ilya) wrote on LSE this morning:
"No one is taking out Tharisa plc, Tharisa plc is looking at buying out 26% of Tharisa Minerals, and thus flipping up our BEE shareholders to topco"
The implication (IMO) is that shares in Tharisa Minerals (the mine subsidiary) are possibly being swapped for shares in Tharisa (the group - Topco). Not a money based transaction, but a share swap (at a ratio yet to be determined).

It says acquisition of the shares, which I assumed to be by cash.

Why would they do that tbtt. The whole group has arxo karo and salene two of which are in Zimbabwe

It will be a share swap, not a money-based transaction. (I think).
The BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) shareholders in the mine subsidiary will swap their shares in the mine for shares in the larger group holding company.
26% of the shares in the actual mine is "worth" a little less than a 26% share in the whole group, since Tharisa's other subsidiaries also make profits. How much less is to be determined.
Overall, I don't think this rearranging of things makes a lot of difference to Tharisa (the group). Maybe vaguely positive in the long run. But not by much.
