sorry but "buying out" does not sound like a share swap.

This is what "Tharisa" (i.e. the company, Ilya) wrote on LSE this morning: "No one is taking out Tharisa plc, Tharisa plc is looking at buying out 26% of Tharisa Minerals, and thus flipping up our BEE shareholders to topco" The implication (IMO) is that shares in Tharisa Minerals (the mine subsidiary) are possibly being swapped for shares in Tharisa (the group - Topco). Not a money based transaction, but a share swap (at a ratio yet to be determined).

It says acquisition of the shares, which I assumed to be by cash.

It will be a share swap, not a money-based transaction. (I think). The BEE (Black Economic Empowerment) shareholders in the mine subsidiary will swap their shares in the mine for shares in the larger group holding company. 26% of the shares in the actual mine is "worth" a little less than a 26% share in the whole group, since Tharisa's other subsidiaries also make profits. How much less is to be determined. Overall, I don't think this rearranging of things makes a lot of difference to Tharisa (the group). Maybe vaguely positive in the long run. But not by much.

THS popped up on one of the stockopedia filters I watch - 'Dreman Low Price to Cash Flow Screen'. THS is 3rd out of 14 stocks. Their stockrank is pretty impressive at 99/100. THS seems to rank 2nd out of 1,777 shares, inc dual listed companies.

Most of the miners have been on a roll for the last 3 months. BRWM (Blackrock World Mining Trust) is a good indicator made up of many of the big and smaller names, up 14% in one month 24% in three months. Similarly RIO and BHP which in addition are giving approximately a 9 to 10% dividend yield/year. SLP/JLP/THS are all in the frame for big uplifts.

I believe JMAT, they are in the business, very roughly the Kico mid price seems to track them. On chromium I notice this https://www.investing.com/commodities/chromium-99-min-china-futures-historical-data Any chance it could be useful, shows chromium down about 3% in Jan
