FTSE operates a reserve list for the FTSE 100 Index, to be used in the event of a corporate action occurring between reviews e.g. merger, acquisition, delisting or suspension. In such cases, the reserve list constituent with the largest market capitalisation (on the date of the corporate action) will replace the outgoing constituent. With immediate effect, the following reserve list for FTSE 100 will be used (in alphabetical order):

• 3i Group
• Berkeley Group Holdings
• Direct Line Insurance Group
• Merlin Entertainments
• Ocado Group
• Taylor Wimpey

The reserve list is normally used for forced changes to the list in between reviews (usually merger or acquisition removing a current constituent, occasionally company collapse [eg Polly Peck]).

What is the significance of the reserve list? Is there still a chance TW could be included?

Appreciate the help, I don't normally buy Dividend paying shares but this year I seem to have accumulated a few.

gbh2 - note that the shares go ex-dividend 2 business days prior to the record date. so for the special dividend the record date is fri 6/6, ex-div date is weds 4/6 which means that you will need to hold TW. shares at close of business on tues 3/6 in order to qualify for the special dividend.

uknighted - payment of 0.47p on 21/5/14 (ex-div 9/4/14) is the final dividend for FY2013. special dividend of 1.54p payable on 3/7/14 (ex-div 4/6/14) comes under FY2014. the next regular payment after that will be the interim dividend for FY2014 (normally paid in Sept).

Interim 21/05/14 0.47p, Special 03/07/14 1.54p plus hopefully a Final in September.
July 2015 the special divi is 6.16p.

TW.highlighted on one of IC's value stock screens yesterday as one of only 16 stocks passing their "value and growth" test. This is a short snippet from the article:

... but the market was unimpressed that Taylor Wimpey has set itself a lower bar for shareholder payouts with a special dividend of just 1.54p planned for this year followed by 6.15p in 2015 and probably more thereafter if the market remains strong. My screen, however, is not interested in exactly how a company's underlying value is distributed and has simply honed in on the strong growth forecast and robust financial position the company now boasts.
