17/8/2023 11:49 | Specs for the new Aston Martin DB12 Volante has it using cast iron discs as standard, with carbon ceramic as an option. I'd think most would buy the option. | ![]() bdaonion
12/8/2023 10:01 | In April ST seemed reasonably confident they had solved the furnace issues but were cautious about their ability to catch up on lost production. The furnaces had only been problem free for one month and the customers supply chain was constrained so no certainty that they would be ready to take any discs should volume increase. This was given a bit more detail in the April Hardman presentation when they talked about any catch up sales involving a conversation with about half a dozen parts of the supply chain, I think these sales will be mostly if not all brake upgrade kits for OEM8 models which maybe explains the complexity of supplying all the necessary parts. The latest Zeus note says that OEM8 and it's distributors will take all available discs this year so any supply chain issues must now have been resolved The forecast for 2023 is £16M turnover and £2.5M cash year end,... H1 was £3.3M so £12.7M needed H2. The expansion program is said to be going to plan with £4M per month capacity available during Q4 The July 31st update stated "Customer arrears have been reduced over the past six weeks" so it looks like they were hitting decent volumes by the end of June. An average of £2.1M is needed per month in H2 to hit forecasts which look beatable if there are no major production problems so in this case no news could be good news. | ![]() quemaster
11/8/2023 15:21 | Due to the recent Director purchases I assume the Company could not be involved in earnest and protracted contract negotiations. I see contract awards more likely in Q4 and then they may well lift the share price if Q3 productivity figures reported as good. I think the statement about likely contract awards comes from the PCP and what management know of likely SOPs. Fils | fillspectre
11/8/2023 14:07 | 'Hard to see news of a fresh contract award reaching us before then' And yet just a couple of weeks ago, they said: 'The Company is continuing its work with customers on converting its prospective contact pipeline into firm orders with further announcements expected in the current financial [ie calendar] year.' I'm assuming something could happen any time.... | ![]() supernumerary
11/8/2023 13:08 | Have we a persistent residual seller still? We have a long way to go before the next update in late September. Hard to see news of a fresh contract award reaching us before then and such news would probably not lift the share price anyway until confidence boosting productivity figures are unveiled. Are we on for a slow drift downwards on paltry volumes for now. 40p doesn't look like being broken this Summer. Just being realistic still a long term supporter. Fils. | fillspectre
11/8/2023 07:22 | Nice comment on a Ferrari chat forum: "I have had the Surface Transforms rotors on my 488 GTB for a little more than two years now - coupled with Pagid RSC1 pads and upgraded brake lines (switching to steel from rubber) they are definitely a better set-up than the OEM Brembo." | ![]() rivaldo
10/8/2023 12:08 | They might not need the publicity (although as I've argued before it must help in negotiations with other customers) but I think we do - ST is still well below the radar for most of the investing community. Surely it's a company that many fund managers would be interested in, particularly at the present price? | ![]() supernumerary
10/8/2023 10:44 | I don't think they need the publicity though. They have enough orders already and there will be more on the way given the outstanding success of product. Everyone in the industry will already be aware I am sure. Its just a question of whether they can ramp up production to meet a rapidly growing demand | ![]() amt
10/8/2023 10:26 | I think it’s a done deal now that everyone involved is happy for the public to know and discuss that Lucid and Tesla use ST CC Brake discs. Employees of those companies have discussed their use on social media, we have multiple photos of ST disc box’s with delivery stickers (stuck on the box by either ST or Tesla!) stating the cars/manufacturer | jollygreengiant

10/8/2023 08:10 | Hi amt. I'm aware of the sensitivity over disclosure of the OEM names and am merely providing a link to information already in the public domain that any investor in SCE who's inclined to do some rock turning can easily find. | ![]() norbert colon

09/8/2023 17:47 | There's three US OEM's from memory. This one is the smallest by far. The other two have very high profiles and / or are huge historic brands. | cheese666
09/8/2023 17:19 | I thought it was a different oem with a much bigger profile unless there is another US one | ![]() amt

09/8/2023 09:13 | Terrific PR for SCE in this new article about the "madcap bonkers" Lucid Air Sapphire, with deliveries beginning next month: "2024 Lucid Air Sapphire Delivers Face-Punching Performance There's no way to prepare yourself for the mind-blowing and nose-crunching acceleration of a 1234-hp electric supersedan. By Elana ScherrUpdated: Aug 8, 2023" "The whole car sits lower on wider wheels and tires—20-inch wheels in the front and 21 in the rear, both wrapped in a just-for-Sapphire Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tire that uses a firmer compound in the center and a stickier rubber for the shoulders to optimize grip in corners and rolling resistance in a straight line. The wheels are an open-spoke design specific to Sapphire and come with removable carbon-fiber aero covers. Although who would want to hide those massive carbon-ceramic rotors? They look like small planets orbiting behind the wheels—16.5-in | ![]() rivaldo |
