Hi PPVN,

I still can't believe Amazons valuation whatever scenario I look at but that aside, I read somewhere recently that something like 3 out of 4 people who go to a shop to pick up something ordered on-line actually buy something else while they are in there.

Given the size of Amazons online sales that probably just became a potential market that was too big to ignore. It will be interesting to see what effect it has on future valuations.

All IMHO,

Morning NMRN, the eurocomposite I took as an addition of the London volume plus NEX, Chi-x, BATS, Turquoise, etc etc. Sirius' bankers would be able to provide them this info and really I think they should be getting this stuff. They aren't a tinpot aim share anymore and as such should try and get this information correct. For the benefit of Johnbot et al this isn't a deramp, it is what I believe to be a fair criticism of inaccurate information that is providing an estimation of their daily volume - more than 10% lower - to what is I assume an investor, or potential investor. They have historically been quite open with their presentations and where they are giving them; the DB convertibles conference was named as such, the one yesterday is entitled "Investor Presentation" so I assume they are using it to present to potential investors or existing ones.

The free float number is more interesting. From the information I have available, I'm seeing 95.8% as free float, but that could be worth checking with them. I don't think it'd take into account the unconverted bonds purely because the total shares outstanding at the moment is 4.689bn, so any free float calcs are going to be based on this number as opposed to the enlarged share capital once CBs are converted. Could be worth checking with Sirius where that comes from since I can't explain it.

I also laughed at that fool article. The reason I have quite a small number of shares currently (diversification wise) is because of exaggerated multiples like STJ. Agree that they are to be avoided like the plague. As soon as earnings are eventually revised down (and I'm not talking about any particular share in this example), the growth narrative becomes sidelined and the multiples become unsustainable. Cliff edge stuff, but not yet. I see the FAANGS are still on multiple hundred multiples so some way off! While we are waiting for Sirius, question for you. If Amazon's valuation is based on its disruptive ability in the online space, why did they move to bricks and mortar?

JW,

Why do you behave as such an objectionable person or do you have a personality defect for which we should be sorry?

Work set to start on the Teesside phase of Sirius Minerals' massive mine

Diggers will be on site at Wilton International within weeks, for the next phase of multi-billion polyhalite mine set to create up to 2,500 jobs

A spokesperson for Sirius said: “Groundworks will be starting at the site in the coming weeks, which is the start of preparing the site for the launch of our first tunnel boring machine (TBM).

Morning PPVN,

LOL. Not even in jest please!

I started reading the presentation but it looked exactly the same as the previous one so I gave up fairly quickly.

I saw the ADTV figure of 22m which was also based on 12 months but where did you get the eurocomposite figure of 25m from?

Doesn't make much difference at the end of the day but I suppose potential investors would want to see what sort of liquidity was available. Problem with Sirius is that the volumes are not consistent. We have huge 100m plus days followed by drought and tumbleweed days.

What I did find interesting was the free float figure of 90%. This obviously leaves 10% of which 3.62% are held by the directors. Does this mean that the other "non-free float" share of 6.38% (300m shares in total) are the remainder of the CBs or have I got the wrong end of the proverbial stick?

If I am wrong, who does have the 300m? If I am right, happy days! We're a 100m closer than we calculated! Thoughts please?

Boo hiss you deramper!!

Wonder what today's presentation is in aid of. Must be for something!

As an aside I've been doing some reading on sulphurinstitute.org. I found it really rather illuminating and things like poly4's organic credentials as well as the nutrient delivery timeframe made a lot more sense to me.

Finally I note that Sirius are selling themselves short in the final share stats slide. They should be using the eurocomposite ADTV of 25mm shares over 12 months rather than the London listing of 22mm.

Christopher,

Probably because the CB holders are waiting to off-load around 400m shares they bought for 25p.
