Rumours abound that Billy Davies might be linked with the vacant Scotland managers post - whatever next?

Not arguing for the sake of it. Billy Davies did a sterling job with The Rams last season. I know he has his moments. Then again, which manager doesn't?

I heard from some Derby supporters that the directors put restrictions on him, instead of supporting him. I heard also that he and the directors were always in dispute.

Anyway, what do I know?

this share price is looking good for a buy at these levels.

all its needs is a few wins strung together and the play-offs are in sight which will cause the share price to rise.

Disagree about BD. When the teams get promoted from Div1 to the Premiership then, if they are to be successful, they need to get Premiership quality players. The same with the management. Derby have given BD the chance to prove he has the ability. It would be wrong for the board to wait until the club is relegated again before taking action - particularly with BDs outbursts of late.

Seems to have all the right attributes for England manager wouldn't you say? It would be terrible if the FA poached him and paid SUFC off... ;o)

Ah well, we can but dream!

According to Robbo in todays Times it was "the most disappointing performance since I have been here". With Robbo's managerial record I'm sure there will be many more worse to come.
I notice that in the 2007 Annual Report and Accounts, the Chief Exec states that
"..Bryan Robson, along with assistant manager Brian Kidd....are tasked with guiding the Blades back to the Premier League for the long term".
I think that was meant to say "...IN the long term".

This thread has gone very quiet. I'm waiting for an entry point to buy in. There will probably be more falls due to football results. Listed football clubs are nice for risky, speculative punts. Sometimes based on, shall we say, not a lot.

'tis good to see words coming back here. I'm pleased you had a good holiday S66Blade - My holiday seems ages ago now - never mind.

Keep posting with us, chap1889. Your words/opinions are appreciated.

Yes, a good undefeated run and a nice win, for a change. I agree about Webber, S66Blade - he was all over the Tractor Boys and looked threatening throughout. We go to The Potters with positives to be had from Tuesday. I hope we build on the positives and notch up maximum points at Stoke.

Regarding the shares - I am just watching, as too much is happening in financials, at the moment to put my mind to AIM shares.

soulsauce - you never fail to make me laugh - I'm looking forward to the two matches against The Wendys.

Where's Eggbird?

All the best guys and Up The Blades!!!!

Last night was a positive night for the Blades. 3 points, 25,000+ crowd, players actually playing well for the most part and a fine goal from Gillespie to cap off an enjoyable evening - as per my last comments - glad someone has taken it upon themselves to SHOOT at goal from distance.

Not sure what happened for the Ipswich goal, we seemed to fall asleep for a minute - hopefully a rare occurence from now on.

Although Beattie was very good I thought Danny Webber was MOTM as he was everywhere and never gave up on anything. A goal would have rounded his night off and he did come close a couple of times.

Feeling a little more optimistic this morning (being a Blade, pessimism runs in the veins) and can see that putting a couple of wins together moves us to a very nice area of the table. Let's hope that we can continue with more of this type of performance.

Hi johne1. The problem for me is that, historically, the longer clubs seem to have given Robbo, the more money he has spent and the more trouble he stores up for the future. At least when Kendall, Spackers, Bruce et al sloshed the cash around we had some attractive football to watch, even if it did end up costing us extra years in this division. We don't even have that consolation at the moment.

how many 'cracks' does robson deserve to have in managment? he had 7 years and 60 million pounds + at middlesbrough, he still managed to get them relegated once, and nearly again till terry venrables turned up.

not to mention bradford, westbrom etc,

S66 - Either that or Robson is trying to deflect blame from his own managerial shortcomings?

Exactly!!

If it's any consolation I hope you stick with him, it's the only chance the Owls have of sticking anywhere near you this season.

Bryan Robson's credibility and ability to use his Manchester United contacts to bring players in is suffering a battering at the moment.

If Bryan Robson can't get Man U players with his "contacts" then I doubt very seriously that he can get anyone of any note to help us out.

"A number of our players are not as good as I thought they were when I took the job, and we have a lot of work to do."

I interpret that to mean, "Brian Kidd lied to me about the ability of the players already at the club." If so then surely that is Kidds fault and therefore Kidd should be the one blamed by Robson?

Either that or Robson is trying to deflect blame from his own managerial shortcomings?

Personally I feel that the dressing room "atmosphere" has probably gone and it needs someone to fire them up again. That's a captains job, however if Morgan is fearful that he may be losing the captaincy as well as his place then he might not be the one to fire them up.
