It would be interesting to know how many fans are/have been share holders. Not a large proportion, perhaps?
If there are many of them, there may be a protest at the club, on a match day. If there are not many of them, anyone protesting might just make fools of themselves. Either way, it would make entertaining viewing. Unfortunately, not for me.
My guess would be that it will just blow over, as most sports fans are interested in the sports and will be looking out for performance and results. Most investors are interested in money and will move on to other lucrative deals.

The mid market price the day before suspension was not 6p, it was 8.5p as I recall!!!!!
Your best bet is to get together within earshot of the directors box with a blown up colour copy of you share certificate and that "he is a thief" posters and point and shout at him and his family throughout the next games at Brammall
Lane. Is there a blog so you can get together.
I think you had better get a petition and get on local radio and ask whether a thief who steals from his own fans is fit to be respected
You might also stand outside his home, it is not unlawful and shout and make the same point at his family as they enter or leave for school
Then you'll get 20p!

Looks like the share offer might just be 6p - weldone Kevin, nice to support your fellow fans. As fans we saw our investments drop as we were relegated, kevin has fought hard and long to rectify the injustice, it was our value that dropped, and i looks like the plug is being pulled just as we get a chance to regain our losses. MCabe, in my opinion is stealing our losses, from being relagated. 30mill will go directly to him as club owner and the fans who had shares will lose what they had as a value in the premiership.

It's not good PR.

Smaller shareholders can't say they weren't warned over the directors' decision to take the club out of "public ownership." As we knew all along, McCabe (KM) and his sons owned the club only because no other significant party had the financial clout or motivation to challenge his position. Without question, KM has been good for the club. He helped achieve the club to promotion to the Premiership and has tried to maintain a lid on spending that the plc couldn't afford. However, if the club is back in private hands and in their ownership, he and his sons will have no excuse to put much more of their own cash to fund players' wages. I am not fully aware of the extent that the economic downturn has affected Caledonia holdings and the Scarborough group- companies that they own related to global property. I understand McCabe sold much of his interest to an Australian goup called Valad. Maybe he is ready to emulate Dave Whelan, Gibson, Al-Fayed etc and spend his fortunes to make Sheffield United Premiership regular force.

From hereon, being seen to be doing the right thing on behalf of the fans won't be enough. They will have to spend their own money accordingly to fund fans' ambitions and expectations. I would assume that all the supplementary businesses that they attempted to set up will be more a burden than a bonus to the future club's finances. Maybe the gyms might make them a few thousand but questions remain over the other property businesses.

Smaller shareholders are bound to feel sour about their investments and it is important that they show an element of solidarity on December 27th. They have invested their own relatively small amounts in faith that the club will bounce back to the Premiership and that a selling opportunity may arise should West Ham have to pay btween 25 million and 50 million.

The plc is currently is officially worth 11.14 million pounds and no doubt the value has been driven down by this week's news. The share price mysteriously reduced by 2 pence before the day of the announcement due to the Reading win and on the back of a decent point at Ipswich....not forgetting the VAT cuts. Promising manager Kevin Blackwell signs a new contract and all appears well- except for the share price.

If the price of 8.5 pence per share is significant, then directors will have to pay out at least £541,227.13 total to smaller shareholders to relieve the annual costs burden of being registered to AIM. More importantly, the money lost by small shareholders and families- made to fell bitter by their losses- will in the long term hurt the club more.

As a fan and investor myself, I haven't been altogether happy with the club's actions- delays in removing Bryan Robson, the Iain Hume affair. The recent way that the club coaches spoke on the matter sounded not only heartless but without any spirit of fairplay and goodwill. Defending Chris Morgan's actions however isn't for this board. Although, it was Emile Heskey and not Carlos Tevez who bullied Morgan himself into submission and relegated United on the last day of 2007 season. McCabe and the private club may receive a few million for the "unfair" relegation but in the long term, he has a lot more to do if his aim is to be remembered who brought long, stable success to Sheffield United, playing regularly amongst the nation's elite- something he hasn't quite yet managed to do....

I HAVE JUST HEARD FROM MY BOSS THAT THE OFFER OF 8.5 (PRESUMED) IS ONLY GOING TO APPLY TO SEASON TICKLET HOLDERS PAST OR PRESENT AND TO THOSE WHO BOUGHT THE SHARES DIRECTLY IN THE CLUB ISSUE & RIGHTS ISSUES. SPECIFICALLY IT EXCLUDES ALL PURCHASES MADE AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF DELIST. ANYONE BUYING NOW IS EXCLUDED FROM THE FIRST QUARTER OFFER.
Ah not a rise the MMs just made the spead 3-6 and Kev made 2 big buys at just over 5

Adverts for psychics and a rise in the share price today. Difference being my prediction of delisting 24hrs ahead was based on things that have already happened. If anyone could tell the future they would not need to advertise themselves, they would just make the occasional buy & sell!!!
I think they want to shake out more this way and have to offer fewer 8.5p's
MM's & co as ever working together in this situation with the Kev holding most of the shares and being "the buyer" of those you sell
Unfortunately this is lawful appropriation because football clubs boards are separate and control the PLC board.
DONT BUY SHARE IN FOOTBALL CLUBS AS BUY AND HOLD AND THE CHAP ABOVE PROPOSING TO HOLD 50,000 BEYOND ANY 8.5p OFFER IS GOING TO LOSE BIG TIME

No news and nothing in the matchday programme or further on the website about the delisting. Any rumours anyone ?

My point is that, the club has used our money to finance the overseas projects, club partnerships and other ventures.

We then have the rug pulled from under our feet, before any of our investments are given the chance to bear fruit. Which is looks like it would if we get compensation from WH. £30M would treble the value of the club at our present share price Never mind if we got promotion.

Also Chchatterjee1932, yes time is very presious when you have a young one to look after, welcome to my world, you will need every penny you have invested in SUFC, lets hope the offer is better than the 8.5p being talked about.

I have decided to hold onto my 50,000 shares for what good it will do.

I am not gifting them to him at the current levels and I imagine eventually he will want to own them all and if that is the case he can pay me a dam sight more than these levels.

You never know Kev may decide he wants a dividend at some point !

I have to say the whole experience has soured my support for the Blades and having read and re-read the RNS I cant see how this is good news for shareholders, we are getting nothing out of it, what would have been good for shareholders would have been for Kev to buy the shares back at a decent price as a token of appreciation, not steal them from us

mryesyes: You may not be psychic, but my friend Sue from Rotherham (nee Sheffield - and a Blade) is.

Her powers don't include football 'results'/lottery numbers/share prices though.

The spirit world doesn't work like that.

Kev will do what Kev wants to do - as has been blindingly obvious over the years with his massive majority shareholding.

Simple as.

I agree with Outsourcer. The announcement surely meant this week. However, IS subject to conditions. As a fan, I am already calculating how I will be spending my time and money if the directors don't play fair. I have put thousands into that club over the years and don't expect to be let down. Otherwise, there will be other games to play and watch. I am soon to be a dad for the first time and that opens up a new future- without or without my beloved football team that I have followed- home or away, rain or shine.
I will soon get over being shafted by a new hobby/ religion- that I am sure. My golf handicap needs to come down and I could do with the April months rather than wait around for an aborted attempt to win through the play-offs.

This price will be set by the Directors on a quarterly basis but for the purposes of the first quarter following the de*listing the price will be at least the mid market price quoted on AIM as at the close of business on the date before the cancellation of the Company's listing was announced.

I took it that the delisting was announced yesterday (4th) therefore it will be Wednesday (3rd), is the January date not the day before the actual cancellation will happen ?

I've just re-read the statement.

Does the mid-price buy back offer not refer to the day before the de-listing is announced. i.e. January the 6th?????
