04/4/2019 16:58 | Yup...total shock given the Jan update. I wouldn't touch this now as I have zero faith in management. They have imho made their positions untenable over the last 3 months... Who believes they can lead and manage a turnaround ? | matchupitchu
04/4/2019 16:44 | needs new management. cant trust them when in January, two months ago all is on track etc. either dishonest or incompetent, or both | gutterhead
04/4/2019 16:36 | Today’s announcement is quite a shock after the very comforting RNS made in January. Makes them look like idiots. Peel Hunt reiterated them a BUY on the 27th March with a price target of 180p. Standard Life Aberdeen have been regular buyers at between 110p and 120p over the lest few weeks. Lots of positive signals leading up to this bombshell. I would have thought, like me, that many SAGA shareholders are also customers so they’ve all taken a financial hit today and will be feeling pretty miffed off at the company. Not good for business. As a cruiser I do feel that their new ships look fantastic and perfectly targeted at a refined 50+ cruiser. The prices aren’t cheap but if they deliver what they promise with a boutique hotel experience then they could do very well. Having 1m+ Customers signed up to their new loyalty programme is promising. Fingers crossed that this is clearing the decks for a bright future. | wilwak
04/4/2019 16:23 | debt ok if return on capital for new ships is good. money is cheap right now. | careful
04/4/2019 16:14 | good point | spob
04/4/2019 16:01 | Think the core issue is that at a time that the core business is under pressure debt is about to rise significantly with the build and delivery of their 2 new cruise ships. Debt now £400 million, but will soon be about £900 million....fwiw. | elsa7878
04/4/2019 15:19 | Why is Saga so expensive for holidays, insurance, etc. The oldies not that stupid. | montyhedge
04/4/2019 14:00 | Blimey - don't pay them twice! :-) | skinny
04/4/2019 13:49 | great if you ignore the 400m debt and if this is the 'last' profit warning | spob
04/4/2019 13:47 | For short term it's a great buying opportunity | teamwork1
04/4/2019 13:24 | All insurance companies take age into account when calculating premiums, so that USP doesn't quite stack up! | riverman77
04/4/2019 13:22 | 5.5 divi , a great buy and hold, bargain. | kirk2
04/4/2019 13:06 | I think the forward dividends are to be 50% of the eps. The final div appears to be 1p given that the int was 3p. So if this year underlying pbt of £180m generated 13.1p eps then taking a very simplistic view the 2020 pbt of £120m may create an eps of 8p and a div of 4p. So buying now gives a 5.5% yield with some growth potential. | scrwal
04/4/2019 13:04 | Flybe and this f..er. My portfolio is just relentlessly evaporating. Once this pile finally dies, as did Flybe I have promised my wife to get out of this investing mess and never return. | toonmag50
04/4/2019 12:54 | He should be sacked with immediate effect with some of the board. They failed to predict the knock-on effect of the low cost airliner going under, and failed to spot the long term trend of customers moving to price comparison sites. Just what is he/they being paid to? | dr biotech
04/4/2019 12:37 | Need a new CEO to turn this around. 16 January 2019 The Group has continued to trade in line with our expectations during the period. 4 April 2019 In response, today we are launching a fundamental change to the Group's strategy to return the whole business to its heritage Does he really know what he's doing? Time to move on Lance you've trashed this company enough. | moriarty
04/4/2019 12:22 | topvest, you have no idea what you are talking about, do you? | johnwig
04/4/2019 12:18 | Technical reading wise this is massively in oversold territory - RSI down to just 10 | justiceforthemany |
