Topped up today as surely these can't get any cheaper - can they?

Perhaps some of his wealthy Arab mates want to buy RR. shares on the cheap.

"The annoying thing is that it is poor form to air such issues in public."

I agree. Not very professional at all.

Seems that its a minor acceptance test compliance to specification issue. They are unlikely to refuse delivery but will no doubt want the issue corrected and retrofitted.

All seems to be over the top.
A bit of extra sulphidation corrosion on short haul engines in a hostile environment is routine.
(that was the Trent 1000 problem.)

These problems are routine development problems and will almost certainly be fixed.

Rolls needs to get a grip and quickly. It has recently come to light that they botched the assembly of A350xwb engines and now the Trent 900 problem.

What are the problems with the T 1000 or is that below the Radar

how can the Trent 900 have significant problems?
It is a proven engine.

Afternoon all. Just bought a few. Might regret it if they're looking to take out the June low, but you've got to get in somewhere.

wad. That's a non-event as such so far as this company is concerned.

Davies is the senior management member of Rio Tinto's Guinea project who was suspended last week and summarily dismissed yesterday in connection with potential bribery allegations. He could hardly retain a non executive position at Rolls while the issues are being investigated.

An overpriced technology stock ? Remind you of any particular phase of the stock market?
As you say , there is real value here if you are willing to be patient. I am pondering adding but still falling fast . 651 limit set ; bargain?

You have to laugh at the RR. market cap of $15.5bn.

A company called Snap Chat, which owns a mobile app that allows kids to send mobile pictures of themselves pulling funny faces is valuing itself at $25bn.
(the picture gets cancelled soon afterwards).

That is 60% more than RR.
first Trump now this, the World has gone crazy.
There must be a day of reckoning.

From yesterday's trading statement:

"-- Cumulative profit and cash flow recognised over the life cycle of a product is not changed by the new standard "

Which is what you would expect. Both profits and cash-flow can flatter a business and need to be considered in the context of everything else.

But generally (incorrectly imo) investors favour profits over cashflow when analyzing companies.
