06/9/2018 19:42 | philanderer - I'm sorry to say I agree. The scale of what could happen over the next 3/4 weeks(ref my recent post) is quite frightening. We could easily see 20%+ coming off the current share price. If things get really nasty I can see share price 34/35 pds. In fact it is quite difficult holding one's nerve at the moment because the current share price represents in my view quite a good entry point. Will sit on the sidelines for at least at least a couple of weeks before making a move. Fresnillo(silver miner)is another one to watch - target share price 5/6 pds. Be careful. All the best. | henryxx

06/9/2018 07:18 | TONGON BACK IN BUSINESS AFTER LOCK-OUT LIFTED Tongon, Côte d'Ivoire, 5 September 2018 - Operations at Randgold Resources' Tongon gold mine returned to normal today after management lifted the lock-out imposed on workers after a protracted illegal strike. Negotiations between management, workers, community leaders and the government created an agreement under which workers are being re-employed in phases aligned to the start-up of the mine's various sections. The agreement also stipulates that the previous discussions, aimed at finally ending the occasional industrial unrest at the mine, should be resumed where they were interrupted by the strike in July. During the lock-out period, management, senior employees and a skeleton crew prepared Tongon for resumed production by servicing the processing facilities, including relining the mills, as well as maintaining the tailings storage facility and access to the two open cast operations. The mine is now fully operational and the phased return of the full employee complement is expected to be complete by the weekend, but the work stoppage has necessitated a revision of its previous production guidance for the year which is now estimated at 230 000 ounces of gold. Randgold chief executive Mark Bristow said that the company remained a committed partner to Côte d'Ivoire, and thanked everyone involved in the various engagements to get the mine back to full operation. He said that despite the setbacks at Tongon, the overall group production outlook remained within the guidance given at the start of the year albeit towards the lower end of the range. This is supported by Loulo-Gounkoto remaining on target and the continued outperformance at Kibali. | christh
05/9/2018 20:26 | 4920p US close | philanderer
05/9/2018 14:23 | Thank you Dave I found it ! Professor Pettigrew (RRS) 11 Apr 2018 - 23:55:50 (around midnight) Do investors realise just how undervalued RRS actually are? Remember RRS has the bigger firepower due to it's sheer size and it's simple effect on employment there. Massively undervalued, and I concur with the Numis price target of at least £80. | chinese investor
05/9/2018 13:58 | I tend to buy big chunks via my SIPP pension scheme. I'm sitting on a loss of about £15k at present which is a shame. I should have been more patience. Not a balanced portfolio approach so win big & lose big. If it drops to £45 I will start to get worried but I can live with the current malaise. RRS tend to move quite sharply (in either direction) and I do expect some improvement reasonably soon. But we shall see! I often get it wrong so I could be licking my wounds in 6 months time! | redtom1
05/9/2018 13:56 | What was your 12 month target ? Professor Pettigrew (RRS) 19 Aug 2017 - 00:52:59 (around midnight) RRS to plunge from £75.50 now. Gold is in a short-term bear market. Three month target here £66.75. | chinese investor
05/9/2018 13:48 | In at 5070 and your sitting on a big loss on a mere 4-5% move down? How many thousands of shares did you buy!?!? | smokybenchod
05/9/2018 13:45 | EI, trying to find the next big riser. Got lucky with Shire after some substantial potential losses. I was a relief to see it hit mid £40s after briefly going sub £30. As for RRS, I can see Gold rising after a bad few months. Also the market are jittery and the political climate is a bit dodgy too so I can see some 'safe haven' instincts coming into play soon. I have a substantial holding in this one but my average price is around 5070p so I'm sitting on a big loss (again!!). But I see a recovery to mid £50s within 6 months. If so, I will buy more Shire just before the close to squeeze a few more per cent out of that baby. Good luck with your investments and keep giving out the good advice. | redtom1
05/9/2018 13:37 | Tom, you haven't gone and done a Shire here, have you. Mentioned to you that would likely come good, well done. | essentialinvestor
