They don’t have the option to place because the default clause has already triggered, the lender calls the shots now.

This is starting to smell a bit like what happened to African Minerals, which lost me a fortune!

If they placed shares to pay off the debt Newgen and their connections would have been denied their prize.

End of the day ... Newgen COULD lengthen the loan or give a little longer grace payment The fact is they won't !!! Reason ?? They are in the process of taking the mine for absolute peanuts compared to copper in situ .......AIMO of course.

Has anyone checked the loan newgen organised that Toby isn’t one of the lenders or know to the lenders, this is all such a shocking situation that their must be reasons why we didn’t have a placing to pay the loan payment. at 20p share price when this hit, it’s beyond belief FCA are not getting involved yet.

Vadna.Something I have repeatedly asked for was more details of the contractor and more details about who the investors at Newgen were as they were only administrators of the investment acting on behalf of unknown investors.

Likewise I've asked that they investigate those who set up this clear millstone and any associated parties who would know the value of the asset, and where then a great incentive to have a deal designed to fail.

But why does NewGen not just get on with it, if that's their end-game?

The Newgen loan was and still is a Noose !! Like many other companies that have ended up in administration

Bertie. Would you have subscribed and would you still subscribe to a 5% fully convertible bond convertible at 10p?

That would have been viable at a 20p conversion rate before the rather orchestrated RNS that did such a lot of damage and like many of the actions of RMM gave a distinct impression of some trying for whatever reason to cause asset to be seized.

I still believe a convertible bond offered to shareholders could be a viable way and indeed should have been the way to go way back, rather than a 'deal' if you can call the Newgen debacle a deal!

Mentioned the above on many occasions, and it was suggested but totally ignored.

As a holder of a significant amount, I do not want this construed as a concert party, merely a query.
