vatnabrekk, you clown. Local authorities are locked into long-term contracts with existing waste disposal companies, and don't have £40m or free zoned land to build their own facilities.

It's game over as far as I can see, or at best lots more dilution and years more delay at Protos. And they still need to build a new HQ and intermediate size test/development unit, as I recall.

PHE now have the freedom to talk to other organisations in the UK, such as local authorities and waste management companies.

Also, PHE now has total control over the development of the FOAK at Protos.

So my understanding from today's press release is Peel pulled out of the Protos spv, PHE left to go it alone, timeline extended by another year and potentially two years, and PHE need to raise more cash - which I estimate could be £35m to £40m, so lots more dilution by the look of it.The old adage, "sell in May and go away" seems very apt. No wonder White sold down his shares, if you ask me. Carnage for anyone now unfortunate enough to be left holding. Lemmings and mushrooms only.

I personally think that because they only pushed it back one month suggests to me that they were very close to an agreement. They could be signing the contracts now as I type!

I wouldn't pay two much attention to the timeline issued by NationalH2. They have previously stated that they have signed an agreement with PHE, which PHE have denied, although PHE have acknowledged that they are "in discussions" with NH2. So I don't believe that PHE has anything to do with the timeline given by NH2, and in any case I think that they might have some difficulty hitting their target to be operational by H2 next year.

I have always held the view that the Protos DMG is the one most likely to be First of a Kind. They have held planning permission for some time, they already have a lease from Peel, they have carried out all of the planning and design work, and they have identified Petrofac as the contractor who will build and install the facility. Of course they still have to sort out the JV agreement with Peel and reach Financial Close, but they are much closer to completion than any of the other projects.

This to me suggests that Protos (or maybe Longford) will be the first. Construction for Mundijong was to be started in Oct / Nov if my memory serves me right. It’s now put back six months or so to Q2 next year, maybe making way for Protos?

TBH I think they will give priority to whichever project they believe can be the first, the FOAK.
It is my personal belief that the Protos DMG has the best chance of becoming the first.

Moon, perhaps you haven't been following events very closely of late.

First of all, it's not PHE who are procrastinating, it's Peel. And PHE can do nothing about it so long as Peel have the option for UK exclusivity, which prevents PHE from doing any deals with any other party in the UK.

However, Peel's option expires at midnight tomorrow (29th) so hopefully it will not be extended any further with confirmation next Tuesday. If so, then PHE will be free to enter into JVs with other organisations in the UK.

Then there's the JV for the DMG at Protos, where currently Peel has 100% ownership of the SPV. We may have news about that as well on Tuesday, and hopefully we'll have confirmation that PHE will be taking over 100% of the DMG project at Protos. Then PHE can get on with the FOAK.

Just my own speculation of course, and I could well be disappointed on one or both counts.

If check the Peel website or one of those sites eventual will find a whole history of investment opportunities Peel offer. The very same Protos project was there and hence, one reason I post here we are being deceived. Although there perhaps in time the actual situation become apparent to all. Only hope PHE, not been bled dry.
