The United Nations said there are "credible allegations" that Russian forces have forcibly removed children from Ukraine to Russia for adoption as part of larger-scale relocations and deportations.Moscow has been accused of unlawfully detaining, interrogating and deporting up to 1.6 million Ukrainians, including 1,800 children."There have been credible allegations of forced transfers of unaccompanied children to Russian occupied territory, or to the Russian Federation itself," Ilze Brands Kehris, the assistant UN secretary-general for human rights, told the Security Council on Wednesday."We are concerned that the Russian authorities have adopted a simplified procedure to grant Russian citizenship to children without parental care, and that these children would be eligible for adoption by Russian families."Russian forces were also placing Ukrainians in occupied territories through invasive security checks that have involved numerous human rights violations, Ms Ilze Brands Kehris said. She said some Ukrainians judged as close to the Ukraine government or military have been tortured and forcibly removed and sent to Russian penal colonies and other detention centres.Russian UN Ambassador Vasily Nebenzya has rebuffed the allegations, calling them "unfounded". He claimed Ukrainians were fleeing their country "to save themselves from the criminal regime".... Daily Telegraph

By banning the Russian language and symbols of Russia in the Russian areas of the Ukraine, the Ukrainian government took away the Individual Rights of the native Russian speakers in the Russian areas of the Ukraine was the straw that finally broke the camels back as to why Putin decided to come in and take these areas back and to reunited with the rest of Russia.

Democracy in Finland...

If you refuse to do any form of national service in Finland, during the time of your call up you are under house arrest, have to wear a tracking ankle bracelet and can only leave your house with permission of the authorities - and that is what the West in peace time calls Freedom and Democracy.

Chairman of the Communist Party of the USSR:

The Crimea’s transfer to Ukraine was a controversial move, angering many Russians at the time. In 1954, the Crimean Region of the RSFSR was given to the Ukrainian SSR, in gross violation of legal norms that were in force at the time.

Poland and many of the Eastern European countries would be better off leaving the EU and staying as members of the EEA instead as being part of the EU they are slowly and steadily loosing their independence and self sovereignty.

Dublin has and still does feel they were occupied by England and this seems to me the reason why Dublin didn't pull out of the EU the same time the UK did as would of made sense with 52% of all ROI trade is with the UK and USA.

According to the British government - trying to Destroy Russia justifies the mass murder (10,000 plus extra people in the UK are expected to die of the cold this winter due to rise in energy bills) and the destruction of the British economy.

I really don't know careful, but my best guess is that sophisticated US satellite surveillance and interpretation is highly significant, and that Russian chases of hardware from N Korea are a good indication that the gulf between Ukrainian and Russians weapons technology is only going to grow. Initially, the west supplied obsolescent systems to Ukraine. every new shipment seems to be more state of the art, and the Ukrainians have proved far more proficient in using a variety of weapons from many sources than I expected.

The western weaponising of gas and oil has been very stupid. It damages us far more than the Russians. Even the influx of (very expensive) liquefied gas to Europe contains a great deal of Russian gas coming through China, which is doing very well out of the trade, and Russian oil and gas revenues and the rouble are higher than they have been for years.

The sanctions which hurt Russia (and at little cost to the west) are the embargo on import of semiconductors and specialist components.

The gas and oil sanctions will pst European resolve. Thy are bleeding Europe (and just about everywhere save India, China and Russia) white. But the real blow will be food shortages and prices, exacerbated by poor harvests, lack of Ukrainian and Russian supply, and sky high fertiliser prices and shortages. Those shortages and high prices are now certain, for at least two years, but the impact has yet to be felt.

Russia's mishandling of the war is matched only by the mishandling of the western response. China is the big winner. And who is the enemy we ought most to fear? The USA is energy self sufficient, and is profiting as a net O and G exporter, and enjoys the competitive of advantage of lower (in relative terms) domestic energy prices. How much longer will its allies remain silent as they are forced to bear the cost of a US proxy ar agains Russia? This is a disaster for everyone save China. Unfortunately, politicians tend to double down on failure. The amazing thing is how often the 'intrepid free press' colludes with them in doing so. Its laughable to accuse Russia of 'weaponising Oil and Gas, but who is pointing that out? No one.I see no outbreak of practical common sense, or peace, any time soon. In the meantime, we can count ourselves lucky beside the countless numbers who are condemned to starvation.

think your right BUT the all out means us organising a red flag event to use article 5 to go all in against russia to destroy it as we have been trying to do since 1917. we almost succeeded with the WEF puppet gobachov. putin recognises this and told schwab to do one. Now turkey doesnt want play neither does hungary or italy(draghis demise). So shwabist truss installed in the UK to hurry things along...hmm good luck with that..

looking at the propaganda battle about causalities in the Ukraine.

Huge variations.

The official UN estimate of civilian casualties is a tiny fraction of the numbers claimed by Ukraine sources.
Same with military casualties.

I am interested in military strategy, and a sucker for old WW1 WW2 and even American Civil War.

Amazing how each war start just like this one in Ukraine, a bungling shambles at first because these armies are out of practice.
then they get into the rhythm of it and improve.
It seems that the Russians are doing much better now despite the Western propaganda.

From better professional sources I read about the air war. Russia has lost aircraft because it was unable to take out Ukrainian surface to air missile systems.
Ukraine has also lost aircraft and has very few left.
Whenever see any on TV do we?

But the important thing is that Russia does not have total air superiority which leaves tanks vulnerable to destruction by hand held weapons. State of the art at that supplied by the UK and America.

Clearing the ground of anti tank personnel using big weapons such as MOAB bombs would be too drastic and inefficient, similarly using Fuel Air MOAB bombs of crushing destructive power to destroy Kief would result in millions of deaths and is too drastic.

Correct to leave Kiev alone, they know from previous wars in Moscow, Leningrad, Stalingrad, Berlin and Hanoi that taking big cities is not worth the effort and destroying them is pointless.

This grinds on, probably to the next phase. That is putting their economies on a war footing and going all out.increased conscription and massive weapons production.

The West will settle at this point, a deal will be made.

Carpe Jugulum7 HRS AGOMessage Actions'Putin the Strategist'? Really? He has ended the lucrative supply of gas to Europe. Not only has he taught Europe the abject folly of trusting Russia but who wants to buy gas from a murderer of children. He has persuaded two heavily armed but neutral neighbouring countries into becoming NATO members. He has ended Western investment in Russia. At least until he is dead.He has exposed Russian weapons systems as last generation tat easily defeated by Western systems. He has exposed Russian armed forces as militarily inept murdering thugs. He has decimated his armed forces with 70,000 killed or wounded and thousands of armoured vehicles and aircraft destroyed. His propagandists are now routinely parodied as ignorant Russian thugs.'Strategist'? I think not. He is a murderer, a thief and a typical Russian thug with the delusional belief that those in the West are as stupid as his cronies. His Ceaucescu moment is approaching. I truly hope he suffers.... Daily Telegraph

Xxxxy - is that why USand EU has rocketed its purchase of Russian aluminium and nickel by 70%, thus increasing the millions and billions of roubles shipped to Russia??
U.K. and EU, still buying billions of roubles of Russian oil and gas, just more smoke and mirrrors, by buying it via Turkey and Hungary.
