14/12/2023 21:53 | Key historical points where the price has reached or stalled/reversed. Only happened a few times in pet's history but those lucky enough to get the timing right made a fortune, the others died waiting. Nothing is exact or to be taken as advice to either buy or sell. Pet has been a baskecase since it listed. Promised much, delivered nothing, will this time be different? Gamble at leisure | goggin

14/12/2023 15:05 | Here it is in Black and white. This is the news we are waiting for. "and the last one is between Anbar and Najaf in central Iraq." This is our Merjan field. Iraq calls on foreign companies to bid for gas exploration June 18, 2023 Iraq calls on foreign companies to bid for gas exploration Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Oil called on foreign companies on Sunday to bid for contracts to explore and develop natural gas reserves in 11 new blocks, according to a statement issued by the Oil Ministry. The step is part of Iraq’s endeavors to produce much-needed natural gas in power plants and reduce gas imports that affect the country’s budget. The statement illustrated that eight of the gas exploration blocks are located in Anbar governorate in western Iraq; one block is located in the city of Mosul in northern Iraq; another one is located between Anbar and Mosul; and the last one is between Anbar and Najaf in central Iraq. The ministry added that it had completed the required preparations to issue the licenses for gas exploration without specifying a date for the submission of bids. Iraq, the second largest producer in the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) after Saudi Arabia, wastes a large quantity of its gas in oil extraction operations due to the lack of facilities to convert it into fuel and instead relies on gas imports from Iran to generate electricity. The United States exerts pressure on Baghdad to reduce its dependence on gas imports from Iran. | ianio5691

14/12/2023 12:46 | There has been steady, but higher than average buying since the middle of November. Look at the historic volume chart. It always has been a tightly held and reactive stock. It's coming off historic lows, so there is more than enough head room for it to be many multiples from here without any significant news. It's easy to be negative and dismissive - especially given PET's track record for non-achievement over the past 20 years. This feels a little different this time though. Given all the recent activity around the oil industry in Iraq, with two recent licence rounds yet to be announced, and then factor in PET's historic relationships within the Country, it is not without reason to imagine that the speculation is with reason!
