What's happening here then? Just a low-liquidity move or is there some doubt creeping in?

The metro system in Shanghai, China has 17 lines and covers almost the entire city, extending out to the suburbs. Your Shot photographer Prasad Ambati explored the tunnels of the transit system to create this outer-worldly photograph. He writes, “It’s huge and reminded me the movie ‘Journey to the Center of the Earth’ while I was there… I wanted to create an experience like a sci-fi movie poster and adjusted the white balance to give the blue tones. I composed with the golden spiral in mind.” Photograph by Prasad Ambati

A tarpon swims through a dense school of fish to capture several fish at a time for dinner. Your Shot Producer David Y. Lee writes, “Wow — I love it Jason. And after reading your caption, explaining what I am looking at, I love this frame even more. I love knowing that this tarpon is purposefully moving through this scene to feed. I love how it is positioned and how it pops off the frame. I love the countless fish in the background, adding a texture to the moment. I love it. Great seeing. Well done.” Photograph by Jason Washington

Can someone advise me why the current share price is $30.69 when the agreed sale price is $31.75. After years of the pace roller coaster I am ready to wait a bit longer before I sell but concerned about the FOREX side of things. The $1 difference confuses me (apologies in advance if I am showing ignorance here)

Check out this Overview of Pembrokeshire County, Wales, created by our founder Benjamin Grant. This area is home to Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, which includes a 186-mile walking trail called the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. In the north of the county are the Preseli Hills, a wide stretch of high moorland with many prehistoric sites and the probable source of bluestones used to construct the inner circle of Stonehenge in England.

“During an early morning game drive in Etosha, Namibia, we stopped by Okaukuejo water hole,” writes Your Shot photographer Yaron Schmid. “This place is known for the large amount of animals that tend to visit it during the day. Unfortunately, only a lone zebra and a few Oryx were in the area. Luckily, this cautious zebra finally reached the water and started drinking as the first rays of the rising sun penetrated the morning clouds.” Photograph by Yaron Schmid

STT - I too was one of the Pace ex-employees who were made redundant in 2003 but I invested my redundancy cash in Pace because I had faith in them. I was also one of the post-boom employees who benefitted from the 14p employee sharesave and was lucky to have invested those shares into my share ISA and bought our retirement home with some of the proceeds.

Like 1gw I am also considering using some of the cash from the sale of Arris to purchase some COMM. Maybe!!!

mbhesms,

Excellent. Great to hear you've done well out of Pace. Well done and good luck with the future.

I worked with a Pace ex-employee who was very bitter after he was made redundant some 15yrs ago...

Yes it's been a rollercoaster but definately worth it in the end.

Good Luck.

If anyone is still here I would like to take my turn to say "So long and thanks for all the fish!"

I've really appreciated all the pointers and analysis on the commercial and business side. Pace was my employer for a number of years (Hi Alex) and they gave me opportunities for challenging projects, international travel, work with some great people (Hi again Alex and others) and to significantly increase the amount of grey hair I have (2002 especially).

Most of my shares came from the 14p employee sharesave deal of just after the dot.com crash so the gain has been substantial, having sold a chunk in early December 2017 to help buy a house and now at the latest peak. Over all I am happy it's time to leave the roller coaster to younger people.

So honourable mentions to andyble, bashor, Alex, sikhthetech, 1gw, sleepless, and apologies to anyone I've forgotten.

Wishing you all a prosperous 2018/2019.

Your Shot photographer Larry McMillian photographed this special moment between a doe and her fawn. Your Shot Associate Photo Editor Kristen McNicholas writes, “This is a special moment, indeed! I love how little the fawn is in the frame and how the background blurs away. I would love to know more on the technical side of how you were able to capture such a quiet moment. It’s a brilliant photo!” Photograph by Larry McMillian

So, I am now the proud owner of an equity stake in CommScope (buying at $18.36). I have sold some Comcast shares to fund this, rather than notionally reinvesting Arris proceeds.

I like the story. Arris is actually the bigger company in terms of both revenue and R&D spend according to the proforma numbers, with the 2 companies fairly closely matched on adjusted EBITDA. CommScope is taking on a lot of debt to fund the acquisition but both companies have experience of doing this and successfully deleveraging afterwards. The CommScope stock has been beaten up since announcement of the deal, partly due to disappointing 3Q results / forward guidance and partly due to concerns over the debt (and perhaps acquisition price) it would appear.

So a play geared to getting the debt down through successful cashflow generation following close. Geared also to abatement of the headwinds (component pricing pressures, China tariff concerns, customer M&A, slowdown in 4G investments pending 5G arrival). But fundamentally, given Arris' relative size, it seems to me that this is a continuation of the Pace-Arris story. Increase scale and expand scope to better serve customers and to better compete.

At the moment a relatively small position, compared to both my Comcast and former Arris positions. So scope to buy more if the price continues its current post-announcement downtrend or if China tariff (or other) headwinds go the wrong way.

No advice intended. DYOR.

Out of Shell B small profit on capital plus unless I'm mistaken picked up the divi?

I'm going to try and hold off reinvesting this amount until this Brex*hit settles a bit.
