So there's this interesting opportunity. Good solid business, just announced a major accretive acquisition and the shares have been marked down by 20%. Goes by the ticker COMM.

Someone stop me...

Still on board the QM2 and won't arrive in New York until Sunday morning. The Wi-Fi on board is not the best but I think it is time too to call it a day.
It was great to be part of this club and I will miss you all. I was also lucky enough to meet Andy, Bashor and 1gw at the AGM when the Arris deal was announced.
I too will look for dividend stocks and have started with LLOY which should provide some growth too.

Drum Roll ... after all these years I am totally out ... mega emotional moment ... but also very objective timing ... have learnt not to be greedy and the £ $ is too risky for me right now ... £4.75 is more than fine ... which just leaves me to say :-

"Thank you all for a wholly wonderful experience being part of this bulletin board which I have enjoyed unreservedly as well I hope as making some good friends many of whom I finally met too at the last Pace meeting. I really do not know what I am going to do now after all the time and stress I have enjoyed here all these years. I will only be investing in long term dividend stocks and FTSE ETFs from now on. Goodbye all and wishing everybody well for the future ... gosh I really have got here and do not like it at all ... enjoy your rewards ... think it is all over ... it is now!"

Andy :-)

And that's the rest of mine gone at closer to $30.70. In the end the slightly weakening price and the thought of the opportunity cost of holding on to Arris given what look like good value opportunities elsewhere made me come down in favour of the bird in the hand.

All told it's been a great investment and a fun bulletin board to be a part of. Sorry we never got that last AGM in Saltaire (which would have been only my second) and good luck to all of you with your other investments (or indeed this one if you're staying in).

I cant really get out of this until the new tax year unless the deal goes through beforehand, in which case I will have a small tax bill.. but nothing major. So I am strapped in to enjoy the ride between now and then.

Having held PIC since 2006, not as long as some of you I know, it has certainly been an exciting share to hold and to some degree has changed my life. I have not contributed much to this board over the years but am thankful to all and particularly to those who have regularly posted both invaluable information and insight.. taking time to go to AGM's etc. Good luck to all in the future, but it does feel like the end for the old Pace community on herethis time around.

I've sold about 1/2 my holding at just over $30.80. I reckon a 3% discount to the deal price is pretty good at this stage given the forex risk. I agree there's a reasonable chance of the £ strengthening as Brexit uncertainty lifts.

Undecided about the rest. I don't see a counter-bid so may end up selling the rest.

Incidentally, for anyone else with HL, I notice with pleasure that they have significantly reduced their forex charges for dealing.

Well done all - finally you may be able to sleep better at night, without worrying as to when the next calamity would manifest itself!

I’d hate to be a Commscope holder by the sound of this, thankfully I’m now finally out of all my old Arris/Pace investments, it’s been a journey

Arris shareholders have to vote on it.

I have to say, from the way this one's going, CommScope presentations aren't going to be any more exciting than Arris ones were. MP was a more engaging presenter.

Yes, what happens next, and more to the point what does the market suggest later. Right now a discounted value of next year's 31.75 is where the pre market is settling down so seems undecided yet if anyone else expected to show. There must also be some chunky shorts left to close after the GS $24 a while back, though trade yesterday did ramp up a lot by the close, as well as someone hoovering up after market. Will be watching keenly later. Oh, and yes, very emotional!

Edit - for info - The transaction, which is expected to close in the first half of 2019, is subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions; expiration or termination of the applicable waiting period under the US Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act; receipt of certain regulatory approvals; and approval by ARRIS shareholders.
