Arris and CommScope share price movements are now pretty much glued together and with long/short plays but it is clear it seems that the market does not expect it to happen even if the talks are real. I guess it would be difficult for this uncertainty to run past the results days and other interested parties would know to raise a flag around then too so a couple of weeks of exciting viewing. Edit - no sooner had I posted this and the tandem movements broke with Arris breaking ranks and up - what is this telling us!

Nice. Can we make it to "Christmas" again on the back of M&A interest? Will any other company break cover now this rumour is out in the open as it feels like competition would be the only way we'd get a really exciting price?

Interesting that both Arris and Commscope will announce 3rd quarter earnings on 8th November 2018.

Well if COMM raised cash against Arris CPE revenues then perhaps an offer could max out at say 1 Arris share = 1 COMM plus $8 but if Arris keen to bail out perhaps half way up to that. Main question has to be is it real and volume suggests it is else either way Arris is now in the shop window though must have been for a while. Will be an interesting few days.

Currently sitting at nearly $26. Surely there should be some explanation from the Board as to why the share price has jumped circa $4.

Well I am finding it difficult to make any numbers work to bring the two together in a manner that would please Arris shareholders so am not taking it too seriously yet.

Shares actually got halted and bid kept racing but settled now and perhaps because CommScope very similar size so could be more of a merger or even reverse but if a takeover then may not be much scope for a premium unless it lights a fire under other interested parties.

must be a takeover offer...bound to happen when the price got it down to a p/e of sub 7!!! (vs RJ revised upwards target price of $34)
