I find the earth/moon pic very odd.
The earth is illuminated by the sun, but not the moon?
I think photoshop is involved!

Cork, Republic of Ireland

Cork has so much charm and beauty it’s bordering on greedy. Medieval streets wind to colourful riverside terraces, and refined Georgian avenues and Victorian warehouses share neighbourhoods with daring modern architecture. Somehow, this eclectic jumble of styles and periods comes together perfectly, creating a beautiful and truly unique cityscape to rival any in Europe – no wonder its inhabitants are so welcoming and so proud of their home. Cork is one of the highlights of a Wild Atlantic Way road trip.

New York City, New York, USA

Not all skylines were created equal. Manhattan’s jagged, glinting cityscape is one of the world’s most famous and recognisable vistas. It looks gorgeous in any light, from the pale haze of dawn to sunset and after dark, when the big city’s bright lights shimmer over the broad Hudson River. The beauty doesn’t stop there. From the glorious green space that is Central Park and the famous cables of the Brooklyn Bridge to the city’s famous brownstones, every inch is ridiculously photogenic.

It's a bit out of the way, but very worth visiting.

freddie, I am intrigued by the pic of active volcano titled "Hong Kong" (two days ago).
As far as I know, although Hong Kong is built in the area of a super-volcano, the last time it erupted was about 140 million years ago.

well I've seen 3 wet beavers together and sailed on the Brienzersee but if anyone knows where the last 2 are and what time of year it was (guessing springtime locally), please share

as ever Freddie, your posts are as welcome as the first gigantic mug of strong coffee every morning. Thank you from the heart for making the time to find and post them. You deserve a Gong in the NY honours list for services to humanity

The charming Mount Grace Priory, founded 1398, dwells within the parish of East Harsley, North Yorkshire; and is the best preserved and most accessible of the ten medieval Carthusian houses in England. The Carthusians are a group of Catholic monks; and their website states they share the values of silence, work, poverty, chastity, obedience, prayer, and humility.

Sand dredging boats gather on Poyang Lake in China’s Jiangxi Province, one of the world’s busiest dredging sites. On an average day here, hundreds of vessels can collect upwards of 10,000 tonnes of sand per hour, much of which is used in land reclamation projects. Poyang is China’s largest lake, but it is losing water fast — its outflow channels have been carved deeper and wider by dredging.
