Not a great day for my lot, -0.45%.

KITW pulled back some of its recent gains and reds outnumbered blues 5:2, one of those days when nearly everything fell. When is the small cap rally going to happen?

DEC fall is not standing out amongst my lot. Terrible news keeps driving everything down, including bond yields. Gilt yields suggest 7 x 0.25% cuts in the next year and 2 or 3 the year after to level out around 2.75-3%. News is getting awful (profit warnings and job losses at Marshalls and DFS, etc.) Why do they not get on with it!?

Morning All.

Sadly, DEC is just one of many fallers amongst my lot this morning. Probably a good thing they are under 1% of the total pot!

A bit dull this morning and we've already had some light rain with possibly more to follow. Doubt whether we will be generating much solar today, only 4.47kWh so far from the new system at work. Total generated since early December now 2.93MWh

Good morning. Grey and drizzley but very mild. That headcold went onto my chest. I'm now coughing up loads but actual don't feel too bad, probably thanks to the warmer weather. It feels like it will shift quickly.

Advice always was that DEC was complex and not to buy heavy. I can't even guess where the price will end up. Will it end up on a 10% or 20% yield at the close of play? Normal practice is to push a dividend cut back to its previous yield so that could be a hefty fall of 50%+. The gas price is low though. I think the market has to allow for the fact it could very easily rise again from here. It probably won't, though.

-0.1%. Drift continues, aided by PHNX today. Investment trust discounts stopped expanding for a few weeks but seem to have started expanding slightly again.

(There seem to be a few trusts that have got on top of this by offering small partial tenders at increasingly small discounts. Investors then buy in the knowledge that any further discount expansion can be offset later buy tendering but the new buying tends to shrink the discount, e.g. IGC arranged a 6% then 3% discounted tender offer and now issues shares at a premium. The VNH discount has shrunk a lot with their tender offer to the point nobody will probably bother. Just the prospect of a tender offer tends to encourage buying to the point that the tender just about becomes negated. I expect this trend to spread. Investment trusts at bigger discounts could do well in the medium term. This is more an observation than a forecast, though.)

A mostly sunny day, with a slight breeze. Our garden's sheltered southern-aspect sun premium was clear for the first time this year. 16.1C after 7.1C. Late morning felt like a summer's day - probably since there's been no sun this year to adjust to yet! A canopy of high cloud has rolled in over the last hour or so but at least it should lock in some of the remaining slight warmth overnight, though it looks set to bring a little light rain - of course.

Bike ride and trip to shop. Both made problematic by the hollow-headed people that come out when the sun shines, and even though road traffic was surprisingly light again. Prices are edging up in SBRY. Why? Only saved 3% on the Nectar card today.

After biding our time in the hunt, we've finally swapped our reliable, ageing Grand C-Max for another, very tidy, ageing Grand C-Max with 100k less on the clock and a hard-to-find extra 60 horses. With rather more power, I'm anticipating we will have nowhere near the difference the old one had between superunleaded E5 and regular E10 petrol but that remains to be seen. I'm sure I'll bore you all to death with it at some point. For now, I'm just enjoying being able to overtake anything anywhere without having to hunt a long gap in oncoming traffic. I just need to find some roads without cones and pot-holes now .....

I'm up +0.098% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.063%).

Best rises: S32 +4.70%, BATS +2.50% and RKT +1.98%.

Worst falls: VOD -3.61%, BT.A -3.59% and UU. -3.02%.

Synchronicity in telecoms. Reckitt doing a dead cat bounce perhaps, but seems very oversold.

We went to the restaurant at the golf driving range for lunch, and I had a very nice Bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich in a baguette. Also a pint of Hophead, which went down well.

Portfolio -0.26% VOD, ABF and AAL accounting for most of that. Sold out of RKT and split the proceeds between more BP and SHEL.

Warm enough day but no sunshine or breeze 15C. Washing dried about 70%. House cleaning today. Made some broth for the lamb ragu tonight with the bones.

Good offer on legs of lamb at Farm Foods. Just over £15 each. When you spend £30 there you get £2 off , so it's well worth buying two :-)

Had a three mile local walk late afternoon, nobody about.

PHNX -4.5% my largest by invested stake when bought, certainly not by value now, had a bad reaction to a w/e press story.
BT.A -3.6%, Could have done better here. Worst fallers.

Unfortunately, I'm heading in the opposite direction, down -1.08% today thanks to PHNX,VOD and AEWU amongst a few others.

Lovely day this morning, headed out to hit a few balls, clouded over this afternoon. The ball machine that I bought last year has been in storage since October 2023 as you can't use it if the courts are wet and it feels like it has rained every day for months. Really need some sunshine.

Been a lovely day down here but I've been in a lab for most of it. May have a short hit later thought the ankle still isn't good enough.

It seems that a late surge today (or to be more accurate a late comeback by my leading fallers) had given me a decent day +0.35%

Outstounding riser KITW - accounted for pretty much all of my gain. Its my biggest holding and my second best (+132%, MEGP is +141%, both excluding dividends). If only I could repeat that elsewhere. MEX/ULTP biggest losers. REITs did better today.

Been dry for most of the day other than a couple of times when it started to spit but didn't really come to anything. Washed the car lunchtime as it got absolutely filthy yesterday whilst we were testing a planned route for a classic car run in June. A couple of small lanes were flooded after recent deluges so the car looked like it had been rallying!

Dry with no sunshine but warm enough. Rain stopped late morning yesterday allowing us time for a walk to the Nature reserve. Small rivers still in flood and water everywhere.

Good morning. It's sunny and nearly 12C already here. I've opened windows in the house for the first time this year (which must be 4 to 6 weeks later than normal). Have we gone straight from winter to summer? I've walked the boys to school in two layers and shorts and it was a layer more than I needed. I can probably start my winter jobs in the garden now as the mud solidifies!
