18/3/2024 08:28 | Today's fall for me - PHNX has taken a dive on a weekend press article. | skinny
18/3/2024 08:22 | Morning. Bright sunny morning with no rain forecast. It would be nice to start the week without one of my holdings falling badly, this week its MSHL! | malcolm caton

17/3/2024 08:54 | Good Morning. Thanks wllm. The 3 six nations games that I watched were all excellent and congratulations to Ireland. RIP Steve Harley. | skinny
17/3/2024 03:29 | Awful game Rotherham v Terriers. Manager seems happy with a draw whilst fans are unhappy with his team selection and lack of use of good players who instead warmed the bench. Both bookies and fans think we're down. Bonus for me is that the American owner of Bournemouth AFC is using his millions to build up and enter Auckland FC into the Aussie A-League. Double bonus is that we will have an Auckland FC pub in the CBD and winery, further out, to go with it. | kiwi2007
17/3/2024 00:19 | wllm, thanks for updating. Good point for QPR at Sunderland with a 0-0 , nobody at the bottom won. Eight games to go. Splendid France v England rugby match , result could have gone either way it was that close. Congratulations to Ireland for winning the trophy and to Italy for winning in Wales. Stayed dry all day. We joined in the local litter picking party this morning and got several bags of rubbish between us all. All went to the pub for lunch and I had a very good ham hock and chicken pie :-) | philanderer

15/3/2024 22:40 | It's been really cold and wet these past few days, overnight temperatures expected to fall below freezing. Forecast for Monday is a balmy 13c. My car had what I thought was a slow puncture so took it into the tyre fitters today, leaking valve was the culprit and replaced, got away with a £25 bill. Weather looks bright and sunny tomorrow so might give the ball machine a try. A really poor week for the folio this with some hefty fallers. It was shaping up to be my worst week of the year but, a slight recovery today meant it was the second worst of 2024. Worst Faller: ABDN -7.46% Best Riser: AEWU +1.59% On the week: -1.75% YTD: -3.72% wllm :) | wllmherk
15/3/2024 19:18 | Oils did wellRenewables did poorlyDown 0.3% on the weekLooks like we'll get some rare sunshine tomorrow, it's been a chilly week, so any warmth will be greatly appreciated YTD -5.30%Enjoy your weekends :) | gateside
15/3/2024 18:53 | My figures this week are: Today : +0.11% On the week : -0.12% Share of the week : BA. Fallers of the week : BHP, ENSI. Folio YTD -3.4% enjoy your weekends. | blueliner
15/3/2024 18:28 | +0.25% this week - DLG given up some recent gains - but I'm still hopeful a bid will happen!? YTD is still +'ve and is now +2.89% Good weekend all! :) | carpingtris
15/3/2024 18:15 | I finished up 0.26%, -0.69% on the week and -4.74% YTD. We have a grass bank near us which is surrounded by concrete infrastructure. I've been planting daffs and blue bells for the last 5 or so years - trying to brighten an otherwise austere plot. Three years ago a dozen or so daffs bloomed on one morning - all picked by school children that afternoon. This year, there was a massive show of daff foliage - so I assumed it might finally be a decent show. The council decided to cut the grass about 2 weeks ago - having never previously touched it until late April - C'est la vie! Anyway - enjoy your weekend! | skinny
15/3/2024 17:29 | Portfolio -0.21% , big fall for RKT -15%, legal action in US against their baby formula company, BAG my other big faller . Good gains for VOD, ROR and ABF. +0.19% for the week making -3.62% YTD. Stayed dry with some sun for most of the day until I was half way around my walk and the heavens opened :-) 15C Got the blue paint out earlier and painted the plant pot holders and pot stands outside the front of the house. Out to dinner tonight , with my wife's friends who all do the local voluntary driving. QPR at Sunderland tomorrow and the three final 6 Nations rugby matches. Hike on sunday looks dryish. Good weekend everyone. | philanderer
15/3/2024 17:21 | 1/7 on the quiz. That was a guess. I'm down -0.149% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.203%) but up +0.36% on the week (FTSE100 +0.88%) yet down -1.64% YTD (FTSE100 -0.08% and HIX -1.43%). Worst falls: RKT -14.58%, IMB -2.56% and GSK -2.26%. Best rises: VOD +5.69%, ADM +1.90% and WDS +1.74%. That law suit upset RKT and the phamaceuticals. Nice rise from VOD, but rebasing the dividend less so. Nice pub lunch today with friends. Soon be time for fish and chips. Keep dry and enjoy the weekend. DF | deanforester
15/3/2024 17:12 | A rubbish day to end what has been an otherwise flat week. I'm down 0.35% today, mostly API/CREI - they look like they will proceed with their merger and for reasons known only to the market its not liked. RKT took a big hit. I sold them this afternoon, I've held them for ages and I wonder why as I've never really been interested in them as a company and they have been a bland investment. KITW/AV have had a decent week, but not decent enough to see me fall to +0.4% YTD. | dr biotech
15/3/2024 17:06 | Up 0.01% on day on the week +0.43% YTD -3.3% | malcolm caton
15/3/2024 17:02 | Still experimenting with the BP monitor and still find it can be all over the place. I find it's lower when I am active in the run up to doing it (presumably opening up minor capillaries); it's lower when I am warm (presumably opening up minor capillaries); and it drops sharply if I take a couple of really deep breaths and exhale very slowly (open up lung capillaries??) . I wonder how many people give readings which might not be representative. I am getting down to about 110/70 now which is normal for a younger man and very good for someone my age, although the NHS has recently controversially switched to a table that makes no allowance for age. There seems to some disagreement with this. +0.1%. Very quiet week in terms of daily movements but down slightly on the week. YTD -5.8%. 14.2C after 9.6C. The sun came out in the last few hours and should see a bit tomorrow! So much nicer. Have a good weekend. | aleman
15/3/2024 15:54 | Just walked No.2+3 home from school after a word with teacher and seen that half the daffodils I newly planted against our front wall, that have only just come out in the last few days and are small and daintily very pretty, have been picked by somebody. It's been that sort of a week! Grrrr. | aleman
15/3/2024 13:15 | Just realised that Daily Mail article is interactive and it looks like the York's latest fertility rate of only 1.15 is amongst the lowest in the UK (despite the census indicating a chunky 13% of the population are full-time students and 10.0% of the population being 20-24.) It's a wonder the York population is still actually rising and in need of new houses building. Edit - Cambridge, Oxford and central London fertility rates are lower. I'm surprised at London. I thought it would be like Bradford and Leicester. | aleman
15/3/2024 12:25 | Birth Rate - household formation, buying a home, people now average 34 years old I heard on the radio yesterday buying their first home. Up from 28 in 2008. The country is a mess. Need a radical change. A parliament that is not controlled by Tories or Labour. | mozy123
15/3/2024 11:29 | Morning everyone Quiz = 0/7 hopeless Portfolio flat , VOD good , RKT not good at all, USA court verdict saying baby formula responsible for a baby's death. Hundreds more cases pending. | philanderer |
