08/9/2016 08:34 | Another nice rise from CRX after a good announcement. And for the pot, AIEA is making a positive contribution after posting excellent results! | mrphil
08/9/2016 08:04 | Morning All. Thanks blueliner, looks like FUM is having another go this morning! | mrphil
07/9/2016 22:03 | +0.32% for the Folio today. [FTSE 250 +0.32%] Well done Mr P with the % rise in FUM. Highest value risers : LLPC +2%, DX. +5.9%, KCOM +3.6%, SDV +1.3%. Worst value fallers : BRCI -2%, BT.A -1.3%, PPC -4.5%. Max temp here 26C despite the 60% cloud cover. | blueliner
07/9/2016 18:05 | Again, dodgy prices on my monitor making comparisons difficult, but I look to up about 0.6% too. 18.6C low last night. Not too bad for sleeping ,though, surprisingly. Only sunny part of the day and days getting shorter so not as much build-up indoors, I suppose, although I did have to open windows again after previously turning the central heating back off. Today was a slightly sticky 26.2C in pleasantly cloudy sunshine. Clearing a bit now so should be cooler tonight. | aleman
07/9/2016 17:10 | Pity I only hold around a quarter of the FUM I had at one point, but at least I didn't sell the lot! The SIPP managed +0.64% mainly thanks to the few FUM I still hold but also aided by SSE & BP. and the pot managed +0.29% thanks to AMS, RDSB & FDI Got hotter and hotter this afternoon, must be well into the mid 20's Conflict tonight with Our Girl returning but also DCI Banks on the other side so something will get recorded. | mrphil
07/9/2016 11:26 | Haven't had the opportunity to double up on my WTB but can't complain at the +13.73% gain on the two purchases I have made so far! | mrphil
07/9/2016 10:12 | Morning All. Our Broadband was dead until a few minutes ago with no explanation! Great to be holding the top riser this morning, FUM, which has almost put me back into profit on them! | mrphil
06/9/2016 21:59 | -0.23% for the Folio. [FTSE 250 -0.12%] Worst value fallers : HSBA -2.2%, KCOM -2.6%, IRV -1.6%, IGR -1.1%. Highest value risers : KNOS +8.8%, SDV +1.6%, MCLS +2%. Not sure what knocked HSBA today but it's had a good run, oh well! seems to be sector weakness. Warm sticky night @ 22C earlier, coming out of Sainsbury's a wall of heat hits you, last night CET min temp of 18.1C was a record for Sept, way above anything previously recorded, perhaps will beaten tonight. | blueliner
06/9/2016 16:51 | Looks like there are some bargains cropping up again, if LLOY reaches 55p I may need to do some juggling and increase a bit more! SIPP -0.4% BP., LLOY & SSE and the pot -0.74% LLOY, RDSB & RR. Tennis this evening, really need some new tennis trainers as I'm nearly through the bottom of my current ones! | mrphil
06/9/2016 15:15 | Lunch on board today and it was very pleasant. Pretty warm although no sunshine so the sea breeze was very welcome. Another painful fall today I see :-( | mrphil
06/9/2016 10:15 | Aleman, we've grown red, yellow and orange tomatoes this year and all have been lovely but the orange ones in particular have such an intense flavour. We're struggling to get the last few ripe before they succumb to blight, so I think some green chutney is on the cards! My lot are down again today, the larger energy related holdings seem to be suffering most. Must have seen me looking at the Solar iBoost unit I intend to buy which diverts unused solar electricity to the immersion heater. | mrphil
06/9/2016 09:36 | LOL. Morning all. My monitor said I was well up yesterday but I was down a bit - maybe 0.3%. My monitor says I'm well up today - well guess what, I'm not. It's bad enough when it picks up loads of false closing prices but now I'm getting lots of false starting prices, too. The only way I can know what is really happening is to watch the final seconds before 4:30 each day and work out changes from that in my head. I'm assuming prices quoted through the day are correct and totalled properly, though! 21.6C yesterday. Already ahead of that after 15.5C last night. Only seen a little sunshine so far although looks promising. Got a couple of tomatoes ripening. They look to be going yellow! I don't know tomato varieties but bought on the description and the lovely picture of a red tomato on the packet. I'm not so keen on yellow tomatoes - sweeter but less flavour. Maybe they will suddenly go red or maybe they'll be yellow ones I like ... at least they are ripening! | aleman
06/9/2016 08:25 | Ummm, just read we are in for another heatwave and I see there is no rain forecast whatsoever today so I was just a little surprised when I got wet walking across the car park just now! It's only drizzle but it's definitely wet! | mrphil
06/9/2016 07:43 | Morning All. A surprising 24.4°C yesterday and without any real sunshine. A relatively muggy low of 18.3°C last night. Grey this morning but certainly not cold. Took the Leaf on a motorway blast last night and it proved it doesn't like motorways! Journey was just 48 miles and I only had 18 miles left this morning and I reckon if I had got back on the motorway I would have been lucky to make much more than 10-12 so just 60 miles "motorway" range after five years and 22,000 miles. Probably more likely 75 miles around town. Would have been tempted to fit their new higher power batteries but they have conveniently made sure they are not interchangeable! | mrphil
05/9/2016 22:10 | -0.067% for today. [FTSE 250 +0.05%] Worst value fallers : KNOS -4.7%, CLIG -1.9%, PEW -1.1%, GSK -1.6%. Highest value risers : IGR -7.1%, PHTM +3.4%, GVC +1.1%, DX. +2.9%. Unfortunately IGR's Mon morning post SCSW gain eclipsed by the fallers, otherwise the loss would have been -0.32%. Last home CC cricket fixture v Middx starts tomorrow with the weather set fair, despite our certain relegation am putting in an appearance. If only to see some team backbone materialise. | blueliner
05/9/2016 17:51 | I'm down -0.062% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.220%). Worst falls: LLOY -2.13%, IMB -1.84% and TW. -1.64%. Best rises: CLLN +3.41%, S32 +2.20% and INDV +1.41%. A bit of light rain this morning, but dry now. I'm off to Sheffield for the 100th Anniversary Conference of the Society of Glass Technology in the morning. Back on Friday evening. CLLN reacted well to a new contract. Not sure about other movements. No obvious reasons, especially for LLOY. DF | deanforester
05/9/2016 17:01 | SIPP -0.23% LLOY, GSK & INTU, and the pot -0.56% LLOY, AMS & LGEN Hoping things will start looking positive again soon. This months contribution goes into the SIPP at the end of this week although it won't get invested into funds until next week. Might swap some of them around a bit. | mrphil
05/9/2016 10:05 | That will save a bit on F1 drivers wages! | mrphil
03/9/2016 11:06 | Have a great honeymoon, Skinny! Better day for me yesterday but the slight strength in the £ this week is proving a headwind for my lot. Slightly down on the week to +17.6% YTD. Been grey and cool for a couple of days, although cool is relative. 20C seems cool after being spoiled for the last couple of months. Our grey squirrel is out again and hunting friskily for food. A very handome specimen, with longer hairs in the tail creating a white halo, whichever way it's pointing.. It doesn't half shift when Magpies and Pigeons swoop down from our Great Poplar, which is now brown and slowly losing leaves. Rain just started. | aleman
03/9/2016 09:46 | Morning, 5/7 for me. +1.5% yesterday with MCS -11.7% the only blot on a good performance and my first real Folio faller caused by the Brexit aftermath. It was a 'bottom fisher' anyway. Highest value risers : GSK +3.5%, IGR +4.1%, CSN +1.7%, NG. +2.9%, BEZ +2.5%. +1.27% for the week with Folio YTD +13.2%. Better day tomorrow as some significant rain looks about to arrive here. | blueliner
03/9/2016 09:26 | Good Morning. My SIPP finished up 0.96%, +0.75% on the week and is +8.57% YTD. The grandsons were handed back intact yesterday and we are off to Sorrento on Monday for a belated honeymoon. Enjoy your weekend. | skinny |
