17/8/2016 18:20 | I'm down -0.617% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.505%). Worst falls: ADM -7.68%, RIO -2.01% and IMI -1.32%. Best rises: INDV +8.77%, WMH +1.38% and BT.A +0.82%. Despite a big rise in dividend/capital return, ADM had a bad day. On the other hand INDV had a good report on a new product, and rose twice that early before falling back. It started at about +13°C with a broken layer of cloud on top of the inversion, which soon cleared away. Quite hazy. I had thought of cutting the grass, but the thought went away quite quickly. Temp 24C, apart from one downpour no appreciable rainfall here since 9th July. | blueliner
17/8/2016 16:54 | Another down day, becoming a habit this week :-( SIPP -0.53% NG., DX. & SSE and the pot -0.38% LLOY, AMD & LGEN Raided the small holding of Artemis Strategic Assets (held outside of SIPP and pot) today to pay a few more bills! Must take a stroll down the road this evening to see if the yellow plums are ready, assuming nobody has beaten us to it! They make lovely jam and are great in a crumble! | mrphil
17/8/2016 15:28 | Good Afternoon. Thanks Aleman. A nice stay in London last night - again helped by the weather! | skinny
17/8/2016 08:01 | Morning All. Aleman, lovely season with all the ripening fruit. Make sure you cook plenty of those Bramley's and freeze them so you can have pies and crumbles throughout the winter! If not, send them down to us! We saw a high of 25.2°C yesterday and a low last night of 11.8°C. The solar has been doing well over the last couple of weeks, 76kwh last week which isn't bad for just 10 panels. | mrphil
16/8/2016 19:02 | +0.3%. Belated congratulations to Skinny and new Mrs. Autumn is coming. Our Great Poplar is turning yellow thanks to dry weather and cool nights recently. We are already getting a good scattering of leaves on the lawn. The pears are coming into season and we are now collecting Bramleys big enough for neighbours to take away. Some of them are turning red with all the sun. There are plenty of blackberries in the hedges but they are quite small. The dessert apples aren't falling or sweet enough yet. | aleman
16/8/2016 18:15 | I'm down -0.822% on the day today (FTSE100 -0.681%). Worst falls: MKS -3.24%, WMH -2.85% and BA. -2.25%. Best rises: RIO +2.09%, S32 +1.68% and BLT +0.67%. Good day for the miners after BLT's final results. Not so good for the rest. Dentist for a filling this morning. The pain in the wallet was the worst bit of it. DF | deanforester

16/8/2016 16:10 | Just had notification from ALD that they are reducing the interest rate on our business savings account from 1.09% to 0.85% but I guess we can't complain and it's still a lot better than our high street main bank! | mrphil
16/8/2016 15:53 | freddie, sadly I had noticed, but I'm afraid mine is more :( as it's costing the business thousands every month! Skinny, that looks a rather pleasant place! Glad DX. & GLIF are having a good day which is reducing losses elsewhere. | mrphil
16/8/2016 15:48 | Afternoon. Sorry to upset you all but I have been out enjoying the boat since yesterday evening! Couldn't have been better! Aleman, special offer just for you! | mrphil

15/8/2016 17:01 | £ plunging :) | freddie ferret
15/8/2016 16:36 | Aleman, Pyracantha have lovely colours and berries for the wildlife, and are a great intruder deterrent but are best not tackled without protection! Looks like the SIPP has managed around +0.25% today thanks to GSK, HFEL & BP. but not staying around to check as the boat is calling! | mrphil
15/8/2016 16:16 | Seems you lot were doing a good job in my absence. YTD was +16.5% at the weekend. I have a bit of cash accumulating in the bank from dividends, too, but I think Mrs A might have some ideas for that as she seems to be buying a few bits for the house over the holidays. A friend tells us our trellis plant that gave Mrs A a spike that led to bleeding, pronounced swelling, and quite a bruise a few days ago is firethorn/pyracanthu | aleman
15/8/2016 09:22 | That was the reasoning behind going 'after the event' :-) BBOX is continuing to make new highs on its steady news flow. | skinny
15/8/2016 09:02 | Skinny, you'll need that trip away after having 2 grandchildren for a week! Bit frustrated that the pound keeps falling further. | mrphil
