Finally some good results from CNC, one of my largest holdings. Having held for a few years now its been a disappointing ride but hopefully they are finally on track.

I wouldnt be surprised to see M&A in the private healthcare REIT sector..

GDWN just keeps going up. Been one of my star performers this year (about the only one Lol)..

Might be just an institution accumulating or might be some other news out there we dont know about like a new major contract win in the offing.

Who knows it might even get bid for. Tight family shareholding that are not going to let go easily but that might not stop some major defence company from making a big offer.

Did notice one of the paper headlines, over the weekend.

Millions turn to private hospitals as hospital waiting list are at record levels. It did make me think of SPI..

Superb results from PHNX with 5% dividend increase. Just shows that all these insurers are so undervalued...

Poor results from CTG, but was well flagged months ago so we knew what was coming. Im getting a little fed-up with these and might decide to sell-up..

Its showing up for me, type in Bb.

To be honest, I don't look.. Its more of a small cap forum..

I'm down 5.2% on the year. Be nice to be able to show some sort of profit by year end. Think November and December should be fairly decent..

Something strange with the BBUS bulletin board. It's completely hidden from view now. I cant see it. Tried searching for it but just comes up that there is no thread that meets my criteria.
Clicked on "battlebus2" and "view posts" and i can access it that way and see that it is still busy. I thought it had just gone quiet as i hadnt seen a single post there for weeks but that not the case..

How about you?

Portfolio has been creeping back up slowly these first couple of weeks of Sept which is a little more encouraging. However it is from a very low base..

VLX looking good, its now 9% of my portfolio, and my biggest position by a 3% now..

I wouldn't sell any if it went upto 25% of my portfolio, roll with your winners...

I think VLX have lots more in the tank over the next few years, Especially as a host of big USA car companies will be using Tesla’s charging points..

I was in GAW several years ago at about £6 and sold it at £9 thinking i got lucky...

Certainly the one that got away but like you i was never sufficiently convinced that selling plastic monsters was a one way route to riches..

Just got that funny feeling that they will trip-up at some point and then it will be a long way down..

GAW never disppoints, another good announcement. I've never been convinced about thd geeky products they sell, but they must be doing something right, as they keep producing the numbers.

Another solid boring company I like is JHD.

Company been around over hundred years, I surprised Lord Lee or Mark Atkinson don't own it..

One you mentioned the other day - SPI - out with some good results. Doesn't currently pay a dividend though will re-start after final results.

Private healthcare defo a sector with a tail-wind. Even Aviva getting in on Private healthcare insurance and seeing it as a growth area..

Also following Director buys is dangerous, I knew someone who purchased shares in ROK many moons ago, because the CEO purchased aload, the company announced A RNS out of blue a few months later that ROK suddenly went into administration and the guy I knew lost a fortune...

I'm not a fan of card factory, I like to invest in businesses with tial winds, cards are like newspapers a dying industry, not the sort of business that you can hold for 10 years plus. CR very brave man, holding 30% of his portfolio in CF.

CR comes across as a very optimistic kind of guy, but needs to talk about his loses sometime, to show he's human like the rest of us. I know he's lost money on the works, and DR Martins, but he never mentions it, just bangs on about his successes..

These Mello events/webcasts are always sadly lacking. They've got a company presenting on there - Team Internet - never heard of 'em Lol...

Why dont they do investors a better service by having some ftse100 companies on there like Amanda from AV or Tony from Smurfit etc...

That would be much more helpful..

Yes, I see the studios as in for free really. Difficult to value, but developing good content that could be franchised, develop recurring revenue, but also entice a bid. AR will get a lift from Rugby WC and Autumn TV. I'm a celeb etc. Lovely dividend. I'm looking for a weak day and will take my position size to 10% of my portfolio. I'm comfortable with that. I'm trying to be patient, when big tech bubble bursts there'll be a rush to quality and income I believe. I'm 25% cash, and was at about 35% until recent SLP purchase. PAY has done well and I think mire to come, just quite exposed there for the market cap. I spent quite some time reviewing my pf the other day, decided on ITV, VOD and PAY as best candidates. Ruled out top up in PAY for above reasons. I do have about 10 on my watchlist but none arw quite interesting yet. I did buy BATS and it looks strong, the dividend is solid and could be uplift to come.

I'm very encouraged by SKG news today with Tony and Irial will lead the new merged company. 8 board members will be from Smurfit with 6 from WestRock.

Plus the new shares will have a dual listing on the NYSE and LSE.

I would now like to buy my share back i sold the other day in light of todays news but now i don't have the spare funds. But never to mind because this deal won't conclude for another 9 months so there will be lot's of volatility between now and then and should plenty of chance for me to buy back in again.

Just need a take-over to free-up some fresh funds..

Hi Pinemartin9,

There is a lot to like about ITV and i am certainly watching it.
Do you have any views on it's studios division? I think that is the most exciting part of the business and possibly offers pretty much unlimited upside potential. Is it all still about the advertising revenue though, that's what im wondering. I dont know to what extent future studios revenues could (or might not) off-set AR or whether there would be an even mix between the two.
