07/9/2023 10:43 | Ill Need to look at the details and the benefits. My W8ben-form is expiring at the end of the year, so if the merger happens, I'll new to send new updated form in.. | igoe104
07/9/2023 10:15 | Really disappointed with the Smurfit merger news. Imo Tony is stupid to do this deal when the world is their oyster.. | cfro
06/9/2023 13:28 | Hi pinemartin9, ITV, yes there are a few things to like about it. Agree about the studios looking undervalued. Have to say though i prefer STVG, ITV's smaller cousin. It's building it's studios division aggressively. I wondered if ITV would perhaps even bid for either it's studios or the whole company i dont know. STVG share price is well down on the year. I think they have flagged advertising revenue down. One would think it will pick-up again at some point though i dont know. I also wondered to what extent the Hollywood strikes were having on programme making. (both stocks on my watchlist) | cfro
06/9/2023 11:55 | I already hold Trig as well as Ukw, there is certainly long-term tailwinds behind windfarms and energy storage companies.. | igoe104
06/9/2023 11:49 | I quite like ITV and TRIG. Both look good value and are nice dividend payers. I'm about 18% up on ITV in a year or so including dividends. ITVX streaming investment has peaked and had a big impact in last results. Headline was that ad revenue was down. It's a soft advertising market at the moment, but as we enter winter and also have Rugby WC it should improve slightly. The studios business seems to be undervalued and offers the potential for a bid. Any thoughts? TRIG, renewables have been hammered. They have a diversified wind and solar portfolio and I see little downside at these prices. Good dividend cover and when renewables are back in vogue I'm sure this should recover to 120p plus, in the meantime collect the dividend. BATS could be worth a look. Not the nicest stock morally, but good steady dividends and a low share price at the moment... | pinemartin9
05/9/2023 20:25 | DGE looking interesting at the moment, after the share price keeps drifting. | igoe104
05/9/2023 17:15 | The online market will only pick up and less people will go to town centres. Who wants to go shopping and pay silly car parking fees, get harassed by drug addict baggers. when you can order online at a cheaper price straight to your door hassle free. These warehouse companies and packaging companies will benefit extremely well over coming years, as online buying will continue to increase globally... | igoe104
05/9/2023 16:05 | I see Paul Hill had his pants pulled down with SND as well. He said hes not slept well since having that big profit warning.. No pants never losses... No pants is the only person I know who regularly does very well from spread betting... | igoe104
05/9/2023 15:58 | I see DS Smith out with a trading update this morning. Im following the sector more closely now that i have an investment in SKG. They say trading inline despite end markets more challenging. Thats pretty good in itself but what do they really mean by "more challenging" because online deliveries are only going one way and thats up. The tail-wind for the sector still continues to blow strongly.. I think as time moves on those trading updates will get ever more upbeat.. | cfro
05/9/2023 15:43 | He is a shocking investor.. | cfro
05/9/2023 14:55 | I love the way Paul Hill gives Paul scott the big billing, then Paul Scott turns around and says his portfolio is small compared to what he had last year. He must of lost alot of cash.. | igoe104
05/9/2023 14:22 | Paul Scott interview. | igoe104
05/9/2023 14:20 | Good company for Av to pick up, CSN. Two birds with one stone for me, if it happened. LOL | igoe104
05/9/2023 13:52 | I like CSN igoe104, it's another on my wishlist. In Lord Lee's article today he's bought it for a charity portfolio he runs and grouped it together with eight other stocks including, among others, DUKE and ANP. He goes on to say that he thinks either share price recoveries will take place of said stocks or you could get a possible take-over of any of them... CSN a possible take-over, what you reckon igoe104? I think a possibility. | cfro
05/9/2023 11:50 | Looks like lots of potential work for CTO . 👏 👏 👏 TClarke announces place on UK decarbonisation framework TClarke is announcing a second strategic public sector framework win. The Procure Partnerships Framework, which starts in November 2023, will focus on the £25bn challenge of decarbonising UK public buildings. To hit the UK government’s stated target for 2030, 91% of public buildings in England and Wales will need to be upgraded in the next seven years. | igoe104
05/9/2023 11:33 | Just been reading that. His emphasis on stocks paying high dividend yields. Its what we've both been saying for such a long time now. When capital gains are absent then dividends are very important.. Good to see he's very bullish on CNC and GDWN. Me too! | cfro
05/9/2023 10:58 | Latest Lord Lee write up. Looks like he's joined me with csn now. | igoe104
05/9/2023 08:54 | Some decent results from one of my smaller holdings i have held for a while ALU. PE of about six and dividend yield of about 7%. I think its water management division will do well. Its just bought ARP in this sector. | cfro
04/9/2023 16:05 | I've previously flagged FLO as one to keep an eye on. It's another from the Harwood Capital stable. Big director share buying with the new CEO buying £400k and the chairman Roger Mcdowell (also chairman of AVG which i have a large holding in) buying £250k. The CEO is from RS group a ftse100 company who has been bought in to turn the company around. Im just wondering if AVG will end up buying them out as the company is right up their street. | cfro
04/9/2023 09:07 | Waking up to more bids this morning with ERGO going for a premium. Its never one of mine but at least its comforting knowing that M&A activity is still out there.. | cfro
04/9/2023 09:06 | Sounds like the government have panicked. It was probably one surveyor going into one school over the summer hols and reported back that he was to condemn it that set the ball rolling.. | cfro
03/9/2023 08:41 | All these problems with some schools and hospitals not been safe enough. Must be music to CTO ears.. | igoe104
01/9/2023 12:08 | FW Thorpe TFW is a classic long termer but sadly another one i have missed along the way and on my wishlist.. PE ratio is always about 20 you can rarely ever get it any cheaper than that throughout it's history but its gone up by multiples over the years. | cfro
01/9/2023 08:58 | Frasers building a stake in BOO. I wonder what their plans are there? | cfro |
