Let me get this right. Mrs May is engaged in a desperate, last ditch attempt to sell her "deal".....

…..and she sends Phillip Hammond?

Legendary investor bets against UK banks

Steve Eisman correctly predicted a meltdown in the complex financial products which helped fund the boom in lending before the 2008 financial crisis.

He even features as a character in the film about the financial crisis, the Big Short, played by Steve Carrell (pictured).

He is currently betting that the share price of three UK banks is going fall - because of their exposure to the UK economy.

"I put these position on about a month and a half ago, my view back then was simply that it was possible that there could be a Brexit and or Jeremy Corbyn could become Prime Minister of the UK.

"I've added a third position because it seems more likely now, that Theresa May's proposals will fail."

He wouldn't say which banks were most vulnerable. He says it doesn't matter which ones - it's an issue for the whole UK industry.

Didn't say that you did use swear words, love. Perhaps it's you who should "Think a little before you write"

Oh it's all too easy.

What a stinker of a morning here. Cold front passing through, though, so should brighten up shortly.

maxk - "Ministers fan out across country in last-ditch effort to sell Theresa May's deal"

Wasting their time, and taxpayers' money. Like a used car salesman trying to sell a clapped out banger with no wheels. Utter madness and stupidity.

Thats what the directors said when the price was 68p!!!!! Just helps to hide the extra shares they are creating to dole out to themselves and they can maintain the dividend without increasing profits and its all done with our money. Give the money to the shareholders and let them buy back the shares.

Poika - same post to you. You are just becoming desperate.

Think a little before you write, I am 80% out of GBP now. I would gain if your wish comes to past. I know that thinking is stressful for you - but just try for once.

g - where have I used any form of swear word? When I reply to any whiner I also try and add some humour eg the one Lloyd's investment bank client above.

You might be a whiner but don't make things up - your colleagues are better at that.
