Greg Clark (Business Secretary) has said this morning that a No Deal outcome would be nuts and disruptive to British industry.


What does he know, ignore him and follow the Lloyds bb armchair warriors. Have any of you ever ventured outside? Let alone undertaken any venture of any sort?

Starmer has been in EU's pocket from Day 1 trying to sabotage Brexit. Be careful what you wish for. Labour would have to win Scotland for a majority and if not they would happily jump in bed with SNP to get power. Then we would have Sturgeon all over us!

The market has already given back around 80% of yesterday's spike up. Well, it was hard to find an explanation!

After May's interview on R4, it's hardly surprising that the City is heading for the hills. She shouldn't be allowed anywhere near Downing Street, IMO.

I see there was quite a bit of violence verging on anarchy at a few English football matches over the past couple of nights.

Smashing up football stadiums, dancing on car roofs, attacking police etc, surely just a taster of what is to come.

Careful, where do you get those figures from? Do you really believe that global markets are reacting to our particular woes? Have you looked at global markets?

I do believe that in the short term the UK market would rise if Brexit was called off, but your 15-20% is pie in the sky. And, btw, I'm not particularly interested in short term movements, rather looking to what could be achieved with a properly negotiated Brexit in the medium to long term. Carney and co's estimates ignore what could be achieved if the EU weren't bent on our destruction - and the rest of the EU's, incidentally.

dow was a bit over 11,000 jan 1 2000.
ftse100 was 6930, above today 19 years later.

there are dividends, and the annual compound difference in growth is not great.(4%)

Graham, absolutely correct - deranged is the description that fits. John Humphries on Today had a difficult time interviewing May this morning. Nurse reckons he sounded "bemused" - quite a long word for nurse, thinking about it, hmm.

Can you imagine May on a beach as a tsunami approaches? Everyone running for their lives, but May standing there telling them that they're all wrong. Well, with a bit of luck this particular tsunami will overwhelm her, drag her out to sea and dump her in Davy Jones Locker; although that's really for poor old seafarers who wouldn't appreciate her arrival.

Sad thing is that it is only Corbyn and Starmer talking sense right now.
Theresa May is doing badly, making too many mistakes.
..but she has been in a tough negotiation and has to bluff and lie a bit.

next Tuesday will be interesting.
I wonder if she will surprise us all and resign.

Stonedyou and Poikka have both used the word deranged.

Some years ago there was a terrible crime known as The Chalk Pit Murder. When the chief defendant was in the dock, people in court noticed something odd about him. Normally, when on trial, you deny everything you think you can get away with, but admit the things there's just no argument about, but this man was different. He blankly denied everything. Are you wearing a suit? No! Are you in a courtroom? No! It was one of several clear signs of certifiable paranoia.

And I genuinely wonder about Mrs May. Her refusal to listen to anyone else, at all. Her refusal to give real answers to any questions. Her unswerving perseverance with a course that's clearly dead.

Should this woman even be at large, let alone running the country?

Yes, I think that there's no doubt that May is deranged, and has been for a long time. Just wish that the Tories would do the clearly obvious: ditch her; say it loud and clear that she's led us into a disastrous 'deal'; stop saying that they respect her; elect a new leader who will deal with those dogs in Brussels as they deserve to be dealt with - someone with realistic vision for the freedom of all European nations; someone who can lead a new vision of a free Europe sharing best practice and co-operating through sensible lasting means.
