When the role of the state is to smooth the way for corporate greed to exploit the hand that feeds them and their pets we know were in a fkd up system Scruff. UK animal insurance based treatment is exactly the same as US human insurance based treatment, it should be avoided at all costs.

I'm not a huge fan of Ben Elton because, for me, he lacks spontaneity & is very considered. However, I listened to his podcast with Louie Theroux this week and was engaged with his opinions on corporate greed. There are no safeguards for vulnerable consumers anymore. Quite how we can ignore the fact that our most vulnerable are without the necessary IT skills to take advantage of best tariffs and are being cynically raped to pay fat cat salaries is beyond me. Tax payer cash is being spent on winter fuel payments for the elderly to compensate for an absence of a corporate moral compass. Government has fkd up massively, if one thing the US/UKR war has taught us its that the US will prosper filling the void from nord stream 2 with LNG exports as will FOREST chairman Marinakas who was quick to buy a fleet of tankers! Hopefully RR SMR's will give us a generational opportunity to reclaim our energy security? But it all depends on who's palms are crossed with silver. Vile isn't it!

From Migration Watch:-

Immigration and crime
We have recently taken part in informal discussions with a variety of people and organisations who take a close interest in the impact of migration. We are often asked what data on immigration and crime we have. The answer has invariably been, very little. We were pleased therefore to see that the evermore formidable Robert Jenrick has proposed a league table of nationalities with the highest crime rates in a push to shed light on an oft-neglected topic: the relationship between immigration and crime.

At the heart of the proposal is the belief that understanding the problem is crucial to fixing it. We agree. Without accurate data on the impact of migration, it's that much more difficult to develop effective policies. This is a gap that the publication of the nationality, visa status, and asylum status of criminals convicted in England and Wales would fill.

Similar initiatives in countries like the US and Denmark have proved useful in informing targeted visa and enforcement policies for migrants from countries with higher crime rates. This approach not only strengthens border control but also enhances public safety by focusing resources on the right areas.

Of course, there will always be those who question the 'practicality' of such a system. But at Migration Watch, we firmly believe that the benefits far outweigh any possible downside and could pave the way for smarter decisions and safer communities.

Let's be clear: shining a light on immigrant crime isn't about pointing a finger at entire groups of people. It's about spotting trends and taking appropriate steps to ensure the safety of all.

Reliable data and transparency can only inform debate and policy. We will write more on this important issue in future newsletters. Meanwhile, there are a couple of excellent articles below on the issue of data transparency.

Lloyds upgraded as optimism builds for second half of year - analysts

Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LSE:LLOY) was upgraded by analysts on Thursday as prospects for Britain’s banking sector look to improve into the second half of the year.

Across the sector in February, deposits into non-interest-bearing bank accounts climbed for the first time since October 2022, mortgage lending was positive and business loans grew, KBW analysts said, pointing to this week’s Bank of England data.

“This suggests that many of the pressures on Lloyds earnings, whilst likely to continue in the first half, are dissipating rapidly,” the investment bank continued.

Though Lloyds shares have rallied in recent months on growing optimism of better conditions in the latter half of the year, such as from rate cuts, KBW noted the stock was trading at a 20% discount to long-term averages.

“We continue to believe that UK incumbent banking is in long-term structural decline from new entrants with better cost and higher customer satisfaction,” KBW added.

“But, it is clear that 2024 is set to be a cleaner year than we have seen for some time.”

Lloyds was upgraded to an ‘outperform’ rating as a result, with KBW hiking its share price target from 55p to 60p.

Shares in the bank climbed 2.75% to 53.82p on Thursday.

No nasties in full year results...
Costs cutting and branch closures...
Rates staying higher for longer...good for margins...
Those borrowers who locked in 2 - 5 year when rates were zero pre 2022 banks were giving away money...have to renew at higher rates...
Default rates so far low as rates have peaked in this cycle and inflation stats coming down...
Housing/lending market and rental market still bouyant...
Lloy doing mega buy backs...
Banking sector was lagging behind on fears of recession with much higher rates and increase in defaults...
Employment rate steady...
Good possibility change of Govt as mentioned by Ut previously...

But these days everything and everybody is "hedged" to the eyeballs with fixes for everything .... which is why Central Bankers haven't had a clue what to do with interest rates and more to the point, why, beyond sending a message interest rates didn't matter one wag or the other.

Doug LessSo I was having a brief chat with a chap down below called Tony, who was asking about the "conspiracy theory" that there is some entity that controls ALL the stuff in the background... the "deep state", the "illuminati", "the 300" call them what you will.Anyhoo, he asked for some of the rabbit holes that I have been burrowing down since my "great awakening" about 3 to 4 years ago.... around the time of the 2020 "election" in the US and the coof.So here for your your wider delectation is the first nugget that many of you, indeed I'll wager, the majority of y'all out there are not aware of....You probably think that BlackRock is the big daddy in terms of investment companies out in the "market", and you'd be right, to a point... however, there is another more shadowy company called Cede & Co, (yup, I sheet you not, that's their name - they're having a laugh at everyone once you realise what they do, i.e. "cede" control... but I digress...), who sit on top of the entire US stock market and actually own everything - a firm that handled $560 TRILLION one one day many moons back...So have a look here and then tell me with a straight face that the "top" people, i.e. the real money people, do not know what's going on before everyone else....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-Uk0C8W2M0And if you can access twitter, here's an interesting one on the owners of BlackRock:https://twitter.com/clovis1931/status/1764597212913238390Enjoy!Oh yes, by the way....
