02/8/2019 12:32 | Liz Truss to announce ‘freeportsR LOL Obviously, don't fully understand how freeports work. | ![]() minerve 2
02/8/2019 12:32 | Ladeside, I don't know what the point is that you're trying to make. "however on closer inspection, you'll find this (freeports) has absolutely nothing to do with Boris, Truss or this cabinet." Of course it's not new. Yes, we've had them before, and "closer inspection" is not required - it's known - but the intention to create 10 ports is new, and the will to make them work. | ![]() poikka

02/8/2019 12:23 | "Proves the point why we're best away from the crooked protectionist racket." Are you talking about the EU or the plutocrats sat behind Farage and Brexit charlatans? | ![]() minerve 2
02/8/2019 12:22 | So who is going to revoke A50 then LADESIDE? As JRM said at the weekend no one would dare do it. When it was voted for by the HofC did they really think that Brussels would let us leave easily or with a deal that wasn't massively in their interests and against ours? Proves the point why we're best away from the crooked protectionist racket. | ![]() cheshire pete
02/8/2019 12:17 | Sterling plummeting towards a 10 year low as I type............... | ![]() ladeside
02/8/2019 12:12 | We won't leave with "no deal", it's just NOT going to happen. There's far too much to lose in real terms as opposed to the fantasy land of "taking back control" etc. It's just a game of brinkmanship poker and it just won't happen. Watch this space........ | ![]() ladeside

02/8/2019 12:05 | LADESIDE #554: "There's no chance that he'll get a "no deal" Brexit through parliament in the first place, so it's all academic" He doesn't need to get anything through parliament. Default is we'll leave 31/10 with no deal. Only thing that can stop it now is revoking Article 50 and that is not going to happen before a GE, which will only happen after we've left and which Boris will win because he had the bottle and belief to go for leave no deal. Boris's team have thought all this through I'm sure. Different people there now than May's remainers. Carney's utterances desperation. No doubt Blair and Major will pop up out of their boxes again soon. | ![]() cheshire pete
02/8/2019 11:55 | Minnie is now hunched over his desk trying to compose an answer to my very truthful comments. His Doctor and others have warned him to calm down, stop the rants, stop the illusins of grandeur, with a very high blood pressure reading off the scale, his anger is ruling his sad little life! | ![]() exlogiclad

02/8/2019 11:33 | I'm just reading that Boris has "unveiled plans for 10 free ports in the uk", however on closer inspection, you'll find this has absolutely nothing to do with Boris, Truss or this cabinet. | ![]() ladeside
02/8/2019 11:27 | LADESIDE, we keep hearing that, but there's nothing to get through Parliament. It's already the law. Minerve - you're right, of course. And if simple either/or polls are unreliable, then this one with its host of variables will be much more so. But one part I have no doubt about whatever is that yet another extension will be disastrous for the Conservative Party - as it will for the country. | ![]() grahamite2
02/8/2019 11:20 | These polls are dubious because we are not seeing that in recent elections and bi-elections. Remain carry the majority generally. | ![]() minerve 2
