Good Sunday,

Trade between the UK and EU is EASY! We’ve been told its all about trade, its not; its about power, to be expressed on the international stage. Without the UK, the most militarily potent nation in Europe, the EU has about 50% of what it hoped to have.

Those who like these things think they can affect the world order and make the United States of Europe a force to be respected, this will not now happen, because we’ve left. The modus vivendi of the EU is gone and it’ll dissolve when it realizes it cannot achieve it’s purpose.

No proof Britain will be hit by a second Covid-19 wave and 'misleading models based on Spanish flu' should not guide UK policy on lifting the lockdown, says leading expert Professor Hugh Pennington

•Professor Hugh Pennington said the evidence of a second wave is 'weak'

•He said the notion is based almost entirely on the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic

•However the flu is biologically completely different to the coronavirus

•It comes after the Government has been forced to defend easing the lockdown

•Experts have warned the latest steps are a huge 'gamble' that will lead to a spike

•Other experts say there will be a second wave, it's just a case of when

There is no evidence Britain will be struck by a second wave of Covid-19 - despite the widespread fears, according to a leading expert.

Professor Hugh Pennington, an emeritus microbiologist at University of Aberdeen, said the notion of a second wave is based on outdated flu models.

Scientists have repeatedly referred to the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic as a sign the world is heading towards a devastating relapse in cases.

The flu is biologically completely different from the coronavirus and should not be comparable, Professor Pennington added.

Bob, we'll be going to Chester Zoo as soon as the restrictions have been lifted. Have also donated to help. Don't think it will be allowed to go under.

The concept is simple. Get the rest of the UK to cover the loan we need to give everyone in Scotland £5000 pa for the rest of their lives in return for their vote for Scottish Independence. 10 -15 yrs after independence Scotland becomes the next Venezuela.

ah. . . at last some good news . . .

According to an analysis by Politico's Jeff Greenfield, recent voting trends combined with Donald Trump's unpopularity with the electorate will likely see Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) lose his power following the November election.

First proposing, "It's a question as obvious as it is critical: How will the trio of crises—the pandemic, the economy, the demands for racial justice—affect the 2020 race for the White House," the columnist said it will be a major factor this election cycle and that is not good news for Republicans.

John Redwood and others who keep spouting 'Remain' just highlight how they are still locked in years gone bye and have not realised that the sole issue today is what the trade agreements post 01/01/2021 will look like.
He needs to stop writing from his lockdown hibernation and focus his mind on the future.

Vaccine scientists ‘on verge of antibody treatment for most vulnerable’

Backing from an Indian firm is crucial if the treatment is to move to the next stage.

Scientists working on a potential coronavirus vaccine have almost reached a breakthrough on an antibody treatment which could saves the lives of the elderly and vulnerable, it has been reported.

An injection of cloned antibodies which allows the body to counteract Covid-19 could prove hugely significant for those in the early stages of infection, according to British-Swedish pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca.

The company has already started to manufacture the Oxford University Covid-19 vaccine to ensure, if it does pass human trials, it can be made available in the autumn.

On Thursday, AstraZeneca signed a deal with the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (Cepi) to help manufacture 300 million globally accessible doses of the coronavirus vaccine candidate being developed by the Jenner Institute at the University of Oxford.

FUKIN ADA!! Expect a riot!!

Scotland may have to scale back its plans to pilot Nicola Sturgeon's flagship UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME SCHEME, as corona takes its toll.

The pilot scheme which would have seen 17000 people recieve a basic entitlement of about £5000 pa whether they are working or not may have to be scaled back due to constrictions on the public purse.
