Went for an MOT with practice nurse a few weeks ago and she took my blood pressure
140/90. I said no way, it's white coat syndrome, I have two monitors I use at home and it is never that bad.
So The doctor rings me up and said I think you should be on blood pressure meds.
My reply was no thanks I'll let you have a weeks readings from both my monitors.

They were between 112/65 and 120/79..... the doc then agreed with me and said excellent you don't need the pills. Just goes to show how many are on meds that don't really need them. Oh! and I refused a statin.

Coronavirus latest news: UK records 63,500 excess deaths since lockdown introduced

Excess deaths in the UK have surpassed 63,500 since the end of March.

According to figures published by the Office for National Statistics this morning, there were 57,961 excess deaths in England and Wales between March 21 and May 29 2020.

The National Records of Scotland found there were 4,729 excess deaths in Scotland between March 23 and May 31, while the Northern Ireland Statistics & Research Agency put the figure for Northern Ireland at 906 excess deaths between March 21 and May 29.

Together, this means that the total number of excess deaths in the UK since lockdown was introduced has reached 63,596.

The number of deaths involving Covid-19 in the UK is now just under 52,000, according to the latest available data.

Epidemiologists say excess mortality - deaths from all causes that exceed the five-year average for the time of year - is the best way of gauging the number to have died from a disease outbreak because it is internationally comparable.

If you get it deep in your lungs and sit on it for a few days longer than you should you can be Bruce Lee but you'll still die of it.

LOL

Where it says no pre-existant condition means they are not undergoing treatment but lots of them will have hidden problems.

M2: "The question of your faith will be asked in the last few days of your life. I'm betting the fear of the atheist will haste conversion."

Done that trip a few times, even had a Priest give me the "last rights" on one occasion. Seeking Religion seems to be a natural function in most cultures in the hope of reduction of uncertainties. However the plethora of forms of belief would indicate that no culture has anything approaching a system believable by all.

I don't see what the point is whether you have a pre-existing condition or not. Does it really make any difference apart from making those who think they are fit warm and comfier? Listen, this disease may kill you if you get it and it spreads VERY easily - that is all there is to it.

Statistics don't save you, you do.

Can anyone make sense of these figs as opposed to the headline news horror stories?
