So if I mention CPI and PFG losses I am telling the truth.
But if I mention I have made great gains on Reynolds, Abbvie etc.. then I am a fraud.

ROFLMAO!

Oh, by-the-way, thinking of Abbvie, I made great gains on Eli Lilly too having bought into them shortly after their bad news RNS on Alzheimer's two or three years back.

I don't tend to buy into pharmaceuticals anymore because the total industry return has fallen below (or close to) the cost of capital which means stock selection is even more pertinent and businesses are likely to overspend on biotechs in order to meet earnings projections. We can discuss REO, ROCE and WACC with respect to this if you Jacko, or Pierre, are interested. The thread can then judge who knows what they are talking about.

:)

Whatever.

When you can discuss stocks with me at my level then I might take you more seriously.

You'll have to broaden your horizons a little further though because I am not interested in Lloyds or ITV and I use more than The Express for source information and data.

LOL

James2 Feb 2020 3:21PMUnless the EU abandon their demands for our fish, alignment, the ECJ having the last word, and anything else they want to blackmail us with, we will have to leave without a deal. We have a massive trading deficit with them anyway, if they want to lose that, good luck.

I would go so far to say that anyone who failed to sell out of Woodford's funds given that they read and contribute to ADVFN boards must be sub-cretinous. It was hardly hiding in plain sight - it was illuminated in hideous neon with nuclear-powered lasers.

Sorry, M2, but that points at you. How do you expect to be taken seriously?

mitchy: I'm back in ! Raised my buy limit post Bank Of England rate decision. I'm comfortable at 56.5p (having sold out at 68.6p on 13/12 ) and will run my position up to the Finals on 20.02. Whatever the Corona situation ...market was due a 5 % correction. Not so LLoyds in my view at current share price level. If it falls back to 50p then I'll double my holding.'simples' !!... hopefully !!Bon chance mon ami .

I am surprised anyone on this board put money with Neil Woodford, shows they have little knowledge of business and investing.

I thought Woodford investors were just those lazy rookies or the very elderly and housewives.

Thanks Jacko, Post 291754, I have never heard of that guy, but he is spot on and I can't see who couldn't agree.

The clearest, calmest and most intelligent explanation of what the Brexit vote means to Leavers I have yet heard. I agree with every single word.

j07: Interesting link. Worthy of a listen. I agree with most of his comments but believe consolidation has to come before redistribution of power.

However the biggest contention I have is with point 9. re Land Ownership. That swamp will never be touched by the real power that has us all by the balls.

Mr Raab said the Scottish Government should focus on its domestic agenda, instead of pushing for independence.

'dont let little englander gammon Nationalists hold you back.'

Do you bother reading any posts or do you rely solely on your inaccurate perception of reality?
The overwhelming opinion of contributors on here is that Scotland should persue independence most are willing the SNP to be successful.

Ken, why dont you try the Lloyd's bank 'on topic' only thread? Theres really no reason whatsoever that you should have to endure all the waffle on this one.

Great to have lots of credible anti Scottish sentiment on here today! The Jocks have been sent 'homeward to think again' it would appear.
