beacause they are an unwieldy bunch of euro prats, many unelected who are desperate to discredit anything UK in order to keep the the sheep in the pen. This debacle over the vaccine over there is costing countless lives. They have failed their first real crisis since formation. They now need to put a brave face on it, sharing round the blame to keep the disparate bunch together.
The people of Europe, however will see through all the bluster and look at the facts.
The roll out is pathetic. Expect more pro brexit noises. Even the Germans are changing
opinions.

You see worries, I see opportunities. I`m not worried at all!

Sparty,

Not sure why you are obsessed with EU. We have massive troubles of our own to worry about.

AstraZeneca said these figures were "much lower than would be expected to occur naturally in a general population of this size and is similar across other licensed Covid-19 vaccines".

despite no clear evidence and approval by WHO and leading scientists..

They ,the euro twonks walk away from the AZN vaccine. After all that fuss about "fair supplies" What a bunch of Cretins..
WHO and leading scientists say it`s fine. Now they turn to the Russians FFS!! They are playing a stupid game and those riots in Holland are going to increase and spread. Italy now in trouble again. For me (I`m 66), I have had 6 "clot free days"
The clots are all over the channel. No doubt they will be finding a reason to blame the UK for their troubles.
The eu is crumbling...
Good luck with Russian Vaccine.. Tested in Salisbury perhaps?

Here's a radical idea - why don't these competitors merge, or one buy the other?

All it takes is one cash-rich business to buy another low-rated cash-rich business, deliver economies of scale, cut out duplicate costs - it's a winner from day 1.

So, anyone know a couple of cash rich businesses with no debt in the sector?

Ooops, sorry, wrong thread...

yeah, 'tiny costain' will get left behind when people realise it doesn't have the scale to compete with market leaders and the exec team are unable to pivot to consultancy in a crowded market. Luckily kier has shown the folly of buying market share, so costain will simply be outcompeted until it dies a natural death. it'll never match kie's scale.

Eh?

No, I'm saying (and that chart is saying) that have moved up in tandem over the past 9 months. That movement has nothing to do with results tomorrow.

I'm also suggesting a possibility that today's upward move (by both) may be, (not that it definitively is) related to COST's results being out tomorrow, and some bigger players taking positions ahead of that. I don't know, it's just a suggestion.

Re not mutually exclusive - I've lost count of the times I have said that on this thread. It's not either/or. There is even some comment on the relative merits, with exactly that conclusion in that link.

But I get the same old snarling from the residents on here regardless.

trolls in hiding today. one idiot was saying that there wouldn't be a long wait for a drop. he's been saying that for two years and the share price has been climbing for six months continuously.

Imastu, are you saying that Kier has gone up double the percentage of Costain today based upon the fact that Costains results are out tomorrow??? Most odd maths.

P.s. it is possible to hold Kier and Costain shares, and do well on both, they are not mutually exclusive!

Edit: share price increases now moving to similar levels.

Just trying to be a smart ar$e you mean.
Balfour is up the same amount. Morgan Sin is down though. Builders in favour. Possibly optimism around house-building. No one is getting excited about tiny costain, apart from the costain holders. (Whatever costain can do, Kier can do four times better.)

I'm sure it won't have escape the learned and informed readers on here that the COST results are out tomorrow.

We'll have to wait a little longer for KIE's tale of joy...

Strangely enough, little costain is up too, but lagging behind our favourite construction firm just a touch. Sector wide move?
