30/3/2022 20:08 | According to my calculation & forecast, I might be totally wrong, as of today, two big sellers combined position stands at 8.3million shares, almost 20% of all shares. Possibly, they will continue to sell until zero... causing a big divergence with the underlying. | hopan

30/3/2022 15:35 | All the volatility does not affect the fact that the natural resource companies in the portfolio are hugely profitable and that hasn't changed | bondholder
30/3/2022 14:33 | The MOEX Russia Index held to early gains and closed 4.3% higher at 2,513 on Wednesday, snapping a 3-day losing streak, supported by banks and energy stocks as investors weighed on the validity of the Kremlin’s military pullback pledges. Despite the rebound, the Ministry of Finance said it has not yet tapped into the RUB 1 trillion in funds allocated by the National Wealth Fund to buy domestic stocks. Banking giants Sberbank (4.5%) and VTB (4%) closed with strong gains. Also, Gazprom (3.9%) partially rebounded from last session’s decline, as G7 countries and Moscow continue the dispute over the currency of payment for Russian gas. Meanwhile, shares from Russia’s largest mobile network operator MTS surged 33.4%, returning to pre-war levels after three consecutive sessions of steep declines. | loganair

30/3/2022 13:58 | Hi Clocktower You wrote "Each and everyone of use, can take action now, and stop buying goods made in China and reduce the fuel we use on a daily basis" Sorry but the current western society is not willing, imo, to modify its behaviour very much, or at all, in order to be 'good'. A high % of society still puts all its rubbish (including plastic, metal, glass) in just 1 bag & lobs it in the bin for 'rubbish not to be recycled'. And that is after decades of educating people to separate their waste & put stuff to be recycled. Much of society does not like following rules or recommended practice & are very selfish & inconsiderate. We all know that drinking & driving puts the lives of others at risk & yet it happens a lot. Hoping that society will use less energy, personally I don't see that request producing any reduction. Why wait to be forced to reduce your demands on energy. | smithie6
30/3/2022 13:31 | At least Germany is talking about rationing, as all western governments should already should be doing at this very moment. Show ones resolve in the face of terror and stand up and accept the hardships this may cause. In the longer run, it will hasten the green energy move and we also need to move production from China as well. Each and everyone of use, can take action now, and stop buying goods made in China and reduce the fuel we use on a daily basis. Why wait to be forced to reduce your demands on energy. | clocktower
30/3/2022 13:13 | Unfortunately, Putin is showing signs of doing rather well on the economic war down to everyone's dependence on Russian gas! It's been happening for weeks and the western news is ignoring it. The Russian Rouble is strengthening significantly, so the sanctions haven't worked short-term. The sanctions are having unintended consequences. Expect Russia to cut-off Germany by the end of the week if they don't pay in Roubles. What a disaster! Ukraine are doing a good job defending themselves against a ruthless and incompetent enemy. It's going to take a decade to wean off gas...at this moment the UK electricity power generation is 47% gas. | topvest
30/3/2022 13:02 | On Friday foreigners are allowed to place sell orders on MOEX. However, I suspect that the Russian authorities intend to use pension fund money to make sure that stocks don't drop much at all. Also, since it's now very difficult to convert cash roubles into hard currency and take the money out of Russia, it doesn't make much sense to sell out. All you're really doing is exchanging one rouble asset for another, and at least an equity offers some protection against inflation, whilst cash offers none. | tigerbythetail
30/3/2022 12:50 | What impact will MOEX selling have do you think on Friday when it restarts on listed stocks? | pander45
30/3/2022 12:40 | Very volatile week ahead but fact remains that moex is above 2500 today and our share price implies the index dropping next week to well below 1000. | bondholder
30/3/2022 12:28 | Look at the volume for the last couple of days - and for today as well. And remember that the market cap of the entire fund is only about £70m at today's prices. It won't take much more "new money" to shift Lazard's remaining shares; if indeed they are selling down to zero. IMO, when the seller is out, this will move very quickly to around 300p. | tigerbythetail
30/3/2022 12:11 | We have big sellers this won't go up anytime soon might go 1.2 once more who knows | mally6
30/3/2022 11:36 | The disconnect between the moex and the "fair value" is massive so there's no harm in reminding people :) | bondholder
30/3/2022 11:24 | apologies just saw your post Bondholder ;-) | mister md
30/3/2022 11:24 | MOEX index holding steady at highs of day +3.7% | mister md
30/3/2022 11:16 | Moex up nearly 4 percent today. Solid base for Friday. | bondholder
30/3/2022 10:50 | The whole world stage STINKS !! Very true but Power - Money - Greed - Thuggery- Poverty all play a part, as we do playing with numbers(money). The world population needs to be reduced and it will be with the new world order. | clocktower
