Amaretto .. If that question is addressed to me .. what they mainly said is "Don't know"

They said because everything had changed so much traditional methods of assessing asset value had had to be changed.

I grant you this is was when MOEX was shut ..

However I note MOEX is down today.. for those that care.

The Russians are having a job supporting their own market even though government has stepped in to buy stocks

As many here were not bothered when the Trust's NAV was circa 40p (prefering your own valuations, one assumes), why are many of you bothered about it now?

Soleman.. Why don't you ring JRS and ask them for a rationale as to why they have the NAV at 39p?

I did

They are very amenable

Yes, I have spent a lot of time number crunching and researching, I come to the conclusion this should rise a few hundred percent within around a week. I would encourage others to research and draw their own conclusions before investing but I feel very good about this.

MOEX hasn't gone down much as the Russian economy as many of its biggest companies are commodity exporters (Oil, Gas, Gold, Copper, Nickel etc) who's products have gone up in price.

You ain't missing anything. Taking into account yearly MOEX decline we should be trading around 500p.

I've been looking at the MOEX index

If you put the timeline to max - the MOEX index hasn't really gone down much even if the economy is in much worse shape than 2019. What am i missing here!?? Because this can't be so - if this was true the MOEX could go down a lot more?

people may wish for further declines in the Russia market, but it's probably the ordinary people investing in their stockmarket either directly or through their pension schemes that suffer most, whilst the billionaires have their money invested in tax havens globally

I'm going with 250p nav as many stocks from the portfolio haven't opened yet so won't be part of the calculation.

those puzzled by the big rise yesterday - if you look at the MOEX YTD decline it's approx 35% but JRS down a massive 84% Ytd.

The MOEX Russia Index fell more than 2% to below 2,550 on Friday, reversing gains from earlier in the session as investors navigated a partially reopened market with limited trading permissions.

Nearly all of the 33 blue chips fell in early trade, with notable declines from energy and bank stocks including Gazprom (-3.4%), Rosneft Oil (-1.4%), Lukoil (-5.2%), Sberbank (-4.8%) and VTB (-6.3%). Meanwhile, chemical holding firm PhosAgro outperformed in a down market, rising nearly 10% in early deals.
