21/8/2024 08:31 | Thanks for that CT. The time off at 50% is possibly more attractive to older employees, it's a great option imo and I would love it if I could do something like that in my job. Agree that Harrogate and surrounding villages are all very nice places to live and within 20-30 mins of LBA depending on time of day. | fozzie
21/8/2024 07:58 | Good news re the 757s going - will the crews be retrained on the 321? When are the 733s going? Perhaps crews are not keen on LBA because of the sirfield - famous for its crosswinds, low cloudbase and short runway! (to clarify - when CT talked of 3000hrs and cant get enough drivers, he was on about captains) | cb7
21/8/2024 02:12 | Can confirm :) | trying2trade
20/8/2024 21:49 | North Leeds / Harrogate are outstanding! | castleford tiger
20/8/2024 21:44 | I agree CT, who wants to live in the LBA area. | angus mcoatup
20/8/2024 18:33 | ok biggest problem is crew. Especially the airbus. That part is true. The shortage of pilots acute. Nobody is moving around. LBA is a big problem because nobody wants to live in the area. The 321 airbus crew shortage is acute. Moral is good and he disagrees with the comments. As for winter nov to end of march you can take as much leave as you want on 50% salary. He thinks thats a great deal. Jet 2 want 3000 hours and at 500 a year its a long process to get enough drivers. So he is very happy ( he was ex RYAN ) i think their youngest CPT .........and as he says they may have to slow deliveries down or sell some. However orders placed today are for 2031 delivery so prices are well up on what we paid. He confirms they are so busy FOOTNOTE the 757`s are retired from next month tiger | castleford tiger
20/8/2024 11:21 | I've heard multiple variations of this. But the most shocking to me was the lack of people turrning up at some of the road shows they've put on. They'll not lose many skippers mind. They hardly fly in the winter despite not being on holiday and the pay is very good when that's considered. | trying2trade
20/8/2024 10:27 | i will ask the boys and girl tiger | castleford tiger
20/8/2024 08:02 | By no means across the board, but I've good friends and often bumping into Jet2 guys (not at Leeds but another big base). Seems morale is low. Not sure how old it was but I read a BALPA piece (Jet2 don't recognise balpa which is no bad thing) and some of the comments back were pretty scathing. Obviously with all these things a small minority can shout pretty loud. But the close friend of mine said the over time cash seems to have dried up at T&C's are 'getting worse'. I did some work in the winter with a fella who had turned down opportunities to do private work because he wanted nothing to do with the pilot management in house . | trying2trade
19/8/2024 21:32 | Tell me more? I have 3 very good friends who drive from LBA They will give me chapter and Verse | castleford tiger
19/8/2024 17:34 | CT, I'm hearing the morale among flight crew has done a 180 in the last 12 months?? People are fed up with the boys club at RAF Leeds? | trying2trade
15/8/2024 17:08 | Thank you tp6 | tongosti
15/8/2024 15:02 | Quite alot of small print in that wizz deal, for a £500 annual fee it lets people book late availability seats, almost like standby tickets that legacy airlines have been doing for years. Would suit flexible and very frequent fliers on wizz network, which doesnt really have any overlap with jet2. | tp6
15/8/2024 10:55 | Thanks pal. | tongosti
15/8/2024 10:51 | Likely to be used by business folk in my opinion. Wizz aren't based at any Jet2 airports but do fly into some - mainly from eastern Europe. Personally I think it's akin to a placing for them. Interesting to see how ryanair act. | trying2trade
15/8/2024 10:37 | Chaps - been offline here for a good few months. Does anyone know anything about this wizzair annual subscription thing and what are the implications for the wider industry? | tongosti
13/8/2024 11:56 | CT. Pure speculation but you could be prevented from adding to the ISA or pension if the pot was over say £1m or you could charge CGT on any growth in the pot over £1m. It's easy to justify to Labour supporters, removing tax breaks for those with savings over £1m. | darrin1471
13/8/2024 10:18 | I'm guessing the closer war comes the worse these travel stocks will do..not great for business if it kicks off..hopefully some resolution can be found prior to it going to far | snorkelparker
13/8/2024 08:43 | CT almost predictable every open ..strange | snorkelparker
13/8/2024 08:37 | whats with this fake opening price every day which then shows a big fall on the charts? | castleford tiger
13/8/2024 07:04 | Reeves coming for your cash and 2tierK for your freedom ..anyone with the will and means will be leaving the UK ..bye bye .. | snorkelparker
12/8/2024 23:00 | Darrin How and what will she do with the biggest holdings? I mean they grow every year so how can you put a top limit on them? She certainly will be looking for CGT up to tax level for sure | castleford tiger
12/8/2024 22:57 | 102750 to be correct | castleford tiger |
