You'll be missing out on the bigger price. I'm adding on any more weakness. Significantly best company in the sector....bar none.

Couldn’t agree more CT.

I’d also argue that these holiday packages are much less cyclical than they used to be. People falling back on ‘staycations’ instead of going abroad just isn’t the case anymore as the cost for a U.K. stay is so much more expensive nowadays.

A week away abroad each year, rightly or wrongly is now considered more of an essential spend.

Yep CT, i thought that too..should have given revised guidance that a material drop to profits was coming...poor show from Ryan

TRYING

But we offer a totally different product with 75% on each aircraft booking a holiday.

We offer better times and a superior product even on flight only.

We never leave people stuck and we hardly ever cancel flights.

People will pay for that.

We had EPS close to 200p and i expect 200p this year giving a forward p/e of 7.

Big cash pile thats growing and a more efficient fleet being built.

The only thing of note is that they all agree there is pricing pressure in this market.

Is it not normal for a company to advise the market IN ADVANCE IF THEY WILL MISS A TARGET by more than 10% ?

Ryanair is a beast tbf. They could tomorrow put 5 aircraft at Bournemouth, run at a loss and clear Jet2 and TUI out of the place. It'd hardly touch their bottom line. There's not many places Jet2 could do that to ryanair. They're a force and a O'Leary isn't a bear to prod

FTSE250 is not an efficient market especially if there is a huge seller or buyer needing cleaning. Here lies the opertuniy weighted against other stocks going up. L

Ryanair materially misses guidance. Jet2 beats guidance. Ryanair on a materially higher P/E than Jet2 ??

can anyone square the "advance sales" stat being up 26% (31st march) while seats this summer +12, pricing "mid single digits", load factor a bit softer, mix shift towards flight only? If anything, one would expect +10%. What goes into this number exactly? Do customer deposit behaviour go into this or is 100% of a sale always booked into this number? Another explanation could be advance winter bookings, but seems unlikely

Bought another chunk this morning and by luck hit the bottom .1362 ( but that can change )
Jet 2 is a holiday company with its own airline not a flight based airline.
Massive difference.

Happy to add

Exactly. Seems like this is yet another opportunity for certain less scrupulous investors to force the Jet2 share price down in order to make more money, or simply an over-reaction to external events and a misread of the true position of the respective companies.

On 11/7 jet2 said that summer 2024 pricing is showing a modest increase for both flight only and package holidays.

So annoying. The Jet2 results were very good last week and clearly the market thought so too. The fact that a competitor is struggling (or at least not doing as well) is a good thing for Jet2. Sentiment and opinion seems to change with the wind with airline stocks and on here too. Seriously, Jet2 is in a great position and is clearly getting repeat business due to customer service levels when Ryanair isn't.

Ryanair results matter more to jet2 share price than jet2 results matter , Nothing more than a Con,

It's interesting to plot Ryan vs JET2 share price YTD, 1yr and 5 yr.
Also adding in EZJ
