£2m UT transaction again as the seller persists. No manipulation. Plenty of greed thats why we are here and thats why people loose and win money. In the long run the market is a weighing machine right and this is so cheap and has growth showing though in the income statement and an excellent balance sheet with cash in MMFs earning Jet2 a bit of extra while rates remain high. A nice position to be in. A crazy nice position second to only ALPH. Do not capitulate as many ALPH holders did before the rise.

its looking like 7 down weeks out of 8. wonder if the pending pandemic agreement/ what ever they feel like agreement is weighting...we all know that the western world elites would love to stomp all over the global travel industry... its sector wide malaise, so hopefully soon Jet2 can start pulling away..

Redburn believes thanks to fragmentation, hyperinflation weak currency etc that Turkey package holidays are structurally higher profit margins for Jet2 (better bargaining power vs weakened hotels). From what I find, Turkey is growing fast again. Anyone have recent articles or indicators on Turkey growing again?

Possible future JET2 destinations. Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt and ski holidays.

Jet2 website says an average pint is £1.60 in Turkey and a meal for 2 is averaging £11. I just returned from a walking holiday in Oludeniz and did not see any local 500ml beer under £2.20. Meals started at £10 per head and a big mac meal was 19 Euros at Dalaman airport.
I did not travel Jet2 but my Irish travel rep said JET2 only employ local travel reps at local wages. I hired a car for 4 days and stopped in an empty JET2/TUI hotel for £25 a night in Marmaris. A good clean hotel which will no doubt be full soon. EZJ flight was 100% full on the way back and 98% full on the way out.

There is a large slow seller dropping £2m in UT every day. Not seen him today so I added. Down on that purchase already but nice to see no stamp duty.

Fozzie,

"People are budgeting more for their overseas holiday spending despite the impact of continued high cost strains, new Abta research reveals".

and

“Over the past two years, UK prices have risen by a total of 9.3% whereas overseas holiday spend is up by 54% for a longer holiday".

The current UK weather must be driving flight and holiday sales, Daily Mail report today that the UK is facing it's wettest summer since 1912 and yet the share price is languishing, it's a strange one.

Farnborough Airport currently has no planning permission for anything other than private and military jets. They are seeking to expand the number of flights but it seems quite unlikely to get this approved.

One South East location will be Farnborough Airport that is in an expansion phase. Farnborough Airport is the location for Airshow with military jets and used for private jets.

I was not suggesting this or next year but in the future.
2024 growth is well covered and 2025 will no doubt just build on Liverpool and Bournmouth with other new routes at MAN and LBA.

Scotland is also still growing and there is plenty of slack in the "off season" to add more short breaks to European hubs.
We have never flown to Zurich in the winter which is covered by SWISS and serves lots of the western Austrian resorts as well as the german part of Switzerland.

As you say until we get many more of the new planes in the fleet we can only grow circa 10/20% per annum.

I am happy with that especially at such a low valuation

What are these other UK locations? Gatwick and it's busiest single runway operation in the world isn't a goer. Southend apparently nobody wants to touch in any serious way and Southampton has all the catchment area the square root of not a lot. Florida and the Caribbean are well covered by BA, Virgin, TUI, and Norse. You've also got to have the aircraft to do it, which Jet2 don't. Maybe they take sirtsnker through the winter and try one of those routes but it's certainly not happening this winter. No mention of the NYC trips this year? Norse isn't hugely successful. Maybe that's their in to the market. That would be a huge step but I see no history of them doing such things.

Travelled with EZJ yesterday from Menorca to LGW. 2 1/2 hours late. In not quite these words, the pilot described how this was due to them not maintaining several of their planes properly, so they couldn’t be used, plus a couple of their planes not getting back to LGW overnight the previous night.

I just cannot believe JET2 would operate like this. Wish they operated from LGW; may fly from Bournemouth so we can use them albeit further away from us.

There is still plenty to go for in the U.K. and that’s before they look at the USA and carribean as well as other new locations.
Steady growth by offering a better experience than others.
As we move into the new phase of reducing household expenditure ( interest rates and energy costs ) then people will take more short breaks.
The south is still short of options.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have been named Travel Brand of the Year at the prestigious Which? Awards for the third year running, after they were recognised for providing customers with industry-leading products and customer service on their well-deserved holidays.

The leading leisure airline and UK’s largest tour operator received the coveted title at a special awards ceremony which was hosted to recognise the brands that go above and beyond for their customers.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays were once again recognised for their industry leadership when it comes to customer service and product quality in travel, meaning they have secured the title of Travel Brand of the Year for the fourth time in seven years.

As the voice of UK consumers, the annual Which? Awards recognise and celebrate brands that champion consumers by consistently providing the best products and best services, with the judges this year paying particularly close attention to value for money, exemplary products and customer service.

Expert judges from Which? base their prestigious awards on a rigorous set of criteria, including how brands have performed in Which? testing, brand reliability, analysis of provider data, customer satisfaction surveys based on thousands of real-time customer experiences, and the results from its investigations. This ensures that brands that make the shortlist are the best in their field.

In addition to this latest success, Jet2’s brands are recognised as a Which? Recommended Provider in every single category it is possible for them to be included in – seven categories in total. These are:

Airlines (Jet2.com)
Beach and Resort Holiday Providers (Jet2holidays)
All Inclusive Holiday Providers (Jet2holidays)
Family Holiday Providers (Jet2holidays)
Solo Holiday Providers (Jet2holidays)
City Breaks (Jet2CityBreaks)
Villas and Holiday Lets Abroad (Jet2Villas)

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “The Which? Awards are the ultimate recognition of customer-centric brands that provide the best products and customer service, so to be awarded Which? Travel Brand of the Year for three years running is a remarkable demonstration of our industry leadership when it comes to looking after our customers.”

He added: “We are enormously proud of this latest accolade, and we remain totally committed to the customer-first approach which has resulted in this success. Our team of amazing colleagues set the benchmark for exceptional customer service, and it is great to see that recognised by customers and the experts at Which? I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our customers, for their loyalty, and to our colleagues too, for it is their hard work that enables us to enjoy such recognition.”

Which? Chief Executive, Anabel Hoult, said: “Jet2’s high-quality service means it has far better customer scores and star ratings than its main rivals and this is why we’ve named it the Best Travel Brand for the third year running.

“Congratulations to Jet2 on its win. The Which? Awards judging standards are incredibly high, so to be named as a winner is a huge achievement - something only achieved by the best of the best.”

Jet2 have plenty of room to expand. Different models to ezy/ryr/wizz. There are so many points where jet2 do business completely differently. Any squeeze in the market will hurt it's competition more, particularly TUI who are knee deep in debt and slow to adapt.Keeping a mix of different aircraft types has also been a canny move. They are more in control of their business and Boeing/airbus problems don't ripple through J2 business as much.
