A huge no fly zone the size of Belgium will be imposed over Paris in July for the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympics. Hundreds of flights cancelled and many will be diverted.

don't think Div will go up that much witn all the cap ex coming over the next 6 years.. and prefer that ..my worry is the effect of depreciation on p&l. potentially 300 -400 m a year just on that when all the new planes arrive ..it needs good rev growth..can or how does Jet2 get to 10 bil rev by 2030. with the green lobby very likely to be pretty vocal..

Yep CT, way behind on the potential of a European holiday market..but didn't think 40% increase for Ezy is low but not looked at the announcement in any detail

A ceiling on P/E 8 with a large cash pile and year on year revenue increases looking backwards? Other share price growth options are M&A, dividends or an aggressive share buy back.

All this with a backdrop of a UK small cap revival?

I wouldn't worry too much about staff leaving for EZY. The worry for me is they have a huge European presence and can quickly roll out the package holiday programme there and take a huge advantage over any plans Jet2 would have to move out of the UK market. Any positive movement in this share and I'm out. Jet2 are at their ceiling and sharing nothing to suggest they're going to break it.

snorkelparker, the market agrees with you as Jet2 is valued in share price in step lock step with EZJ. Both have a net cash position, but I ended up here as Jet2 has more cash an a lower P/E. I presume because net assets are lighter here given than earnings from hotels Jet2 don't hold. But an asset lighter business appeals to me. Jet2 just looks better to me so I must be missing something.

And the existing shareholders equity .. I think it's about equal with Ezy when goodwill and intangibles are removed .. For me Ezy Jet is the main worry as has the ability to poach staff.

So what’s the reported EPS going to be for last year?
I go 180p so we are trading at just over 7 x last years
No mention of net cash in that calculation

DTH - I was looking at SSPG b4 I got into Jet2. I think they are due a rebound.They have a trading statement next week and DB have upped target to 305/

Take a look at SSPG too, they announce results on the 21st, as they are involved in the food, drink and catering at airports and railway stations worldwide, they will have done very well too and the shares have been unjustly depressed share price wise. Could be 10 to 20% increase on the cards imo...

Good comment from Canaccord the brokers today:


"Read across to TUI: Supportive outlook
TUI see: Bookings for the Summer 2024 season continue to be promising, with 60% of the season sold. Bookings taken to date are +5% higher, supported by increased prices, up +4%.
Note for Jet2 we forecast higher volume growth and similar pricing trends.
TUI see: 'positive trends in our business continuing in H2, but also recognise the current macroeconomic as well as geopolitical uncertainties especially in the Middle East, with 40% of the Summer 2024 left to sell. ... We expect revenue to increase by at least +10% year-on-year.'
Valuation: Jet2 shares on just over 8x YA PER on our cautious forecasts. Like in late Autumn 2023 this dip represents superb value that won’t last for a share that should be on 12-13x PER - not 8x"

Similar here. TUI were relatively positive this morning. EZY figures out tomorrow. Hard to know what to want to see there, if their package holidays are flying off the shelf you can be sure it's taking Jet2 market share.
