Promo's are all smoke and mirrors don't worry. This is the time to capture customers ahead of the summer and this is the way to do it. The reason Jet2 is sliding is simply that it is in a technical pull back driven by fear of losing share price profits. This is the time you will see negative posts and not on the way up as sentiment changes. The fact remains that this is probably the best of the airlines with net cash, low P/E, good aircraft, advertising on TV. Let the traders have fun and buy this dip.

Yes I agree, the Boeing issues are mainly affecting the new airframes particularly the Max. It's a mixed blessing most of j2 aircraft are midlife 737s.

The company has had a great record of plane selection over the years. A lot of that has been down PM, even in more recent years when he has been less active on day to day affairs, so i hope there is sufficient expertise in house to continue his record

787 is the latest issue which won't have any impact here at all. Avoiding the Max and P&W engines on the 320s has been most fortunate. Still leads the sector, could do with those EZY pilots going on strike...

Keeping the customers money seperate helped them during COVID, clear and quick refunds, while competitors had to borrow money and fob customers off.The card processing companies also regard airlines and travel companies as higher risk. Holidays and flights bought and paid for months in advance, the bulk of the payment doesn't reach the supplier till close to the holiday date, to protect card companies with card protection obligations...

4% ROI on 3 Bn sounds very conservative. Although I guess they have to keep the customer deposits very liquid.

It's also seasonal, so it will be less. (Maybe average September and march.)

I think last year didn't benefit fully from current rates(up). Also, revenue growth alone this year means deposit growth

Brokers estimating full year profit flat are being conservative because of this alone. Also because of operating leverage

Weak consumer blablabla. They are backfitting for a low valuation

I think they might have done more advance deposit promotions earlier this year to optimize for higher rates

They're also stuck waiting on Max deliveries, Mr O'Leary will be ensuring he is top of that list.

don't forget that it's great to have advance deposits but only a small portion is profit. the ring fencing is great business practice. Tui uses it to pay debt and operating expenses making it vulnerable to shocks and downturns..
