25/4/2024 17:21 | Jet2.com has been named Best Airline at the prestigious Routes Europe 2024 Awards. The awards, regarded as one of the key accolades in European aviation, took place on April 23rd at Routes Europe 2024 at Aarhus in Denmark. The awards bring together key figures from the industry to celebrate excellence in aviation, as well as outstanding achievements in the industry. Jet2.com was recognised by judges for its sustainable and responsible growth which has been driven by new routes, including more than 40 new routes for Summer 24. Judges commended the UK’s third largest airline for fleet growth and the launch of new UK airport bases, Liverpool John Lennon and Bournemouth Airports, which means the company will operate from 12 UK bases in Summer 25. The airline was also praised for its partnership approach to working with airport and tourism partners, as well as for offering customers unrivalled choice and flexibility. Judges also recognised Jet2.com’s industry-leading customer satisfaction scores, something the airline has repeatedly won high-profile accolades, such as Which? Travel Brand of the Year, for. Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won this prestigious award which recognises Jet2.com’s strength and success, as well as our industry-leading approach to supporting and working with airport and destination partners.” He added: "The Routes Awards are truly global, so this accolade is outstanding evidence of the success of our business, our relentless focus on customer service, and our continued commitment to building long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships with airports and destinations.” | bigbigdave

25/4/2024 10:49 | Alliance News) - Wizz Air Holdings PLC on Thursday offered reassurance that pricing remained strong and costs constrained as it reiterated full-year guidance. Shares in Wizz Air rose 5.5% to 2,230.00 pence each in London on Thursday. The Budapest-based budget airline expects to report net income in the range of EUR350 to EUR370 million for the full year to March 31, in line with guidance. In a trading update, Wizz Air said total revenue is expected to be in the range of EUR5.05 billion to EUR5.10 billion, reflecting stronger ticket revenue and pricing, partially offset by softer ancillaries in the second half. Full year revenue per available seat is expected to be mid-single digit per cent higher compared to last year, as guided. | scaff55
25/4/2024 10:13 | I don't fly much but when I do I fly out of season. JET2 check-in has been quick and well staffed, if not over staffed. I look across at EZJ and their queues are 10x the length and a lot slower. I'm flying EZJ next week as JET2 did not have the flight dates I needed. Although I have not traded this drop to 1400, I still have a half core holding in JET2 which I will reduce into any price strength. | darrin1471
25/4/2024 09:41 | I think competition is always a valid concern. My Sister in law is a travel counselor and a huge fan of putting clients with JET2. That said i and others are aware that sometimes JET2 are not the cheapest. To return a 10% profit on turnover is exceptional. People are frightened of being left stranded and will sometimes choose to pay a bit more for better times and the comfort blanket. That said flight prices have been higher than others especially from FULL airports like LEEDS. So they need to keep an eye on the job and whats going on in the market. The growth in seats and holidays show that the company is expanding but that 10% made last year may be cut slightly this year. So 6.8b turnover may only produce 600m profit. ( thats a guess by the way) Nobody will beat them with a fully vertical integrated model. tiger | castleford tiger
25/4/2024 08:41 | EZY are making strides but they could be about to have the pilots go on strike, which as a Jet2 holder and not an EZY one I have got my fingers crossed for. | trying2trade
25/4/2024 07:28 | Yes EZJ have hugely increased sales in their holiday divisionIt's in their accounts | thebears1
25/4/2024 07:23 | Do we think EZY are eating into the holiday 'package' deals? Have they ramped up that part of the business as opposed to just selling seats? Jet2 are clearly the market leader and rightly so. But you have to keep an eye on what the competition is doing. | npp62
25/4/2024 07:12 | I originally came into JET2, then DART, at just under 200p and was rather suspecting I had been left on the runway but not a bit of it. Since that time I have mostly held & traded & pleasingly seen it go from strength to strength. I am very much with CT and his comments here. | whittler100

24/4/2024 14:48 | With on sale seat capacity for Summer 2024 up 12.3% then package holiday bookings up 13% has to be inline with expectations Last year package holiday sales were up 5% to 75% of all seats. We don't know if JET2 were planning to remain at 75% or push higher. If JET2 were planning for a higher percentage then they could end up with excess hotel space that they need to discount. We know EJ have been pushing holidays and also adding additional capacity. More competitive pricing in April and May could be due to OTB's updated partnership with Ryan announced at the end of February. The TU was mainly inline with expectations, so the pricing pressure in April and May was the only new story and hence the weakness today. Last week I bought a trade at 1400 as I was feeling positive about the trading update. I have not bought that trade again today as there is a little short term uncertainty regarding April and May trading | darrin1471
