The BlackRock RNS share purchase announcement has certainly helped the ITV share price this afternoon, currently up 2p.

They just used their sizeable existing holding to secure additional shares at the best rate possible.Nothing wrong with that.Clearly some also mistakenly sold their shares and unknowingly aided their accumulation.But that's ok - it's how a market operates.

Your guess is as good mine Nige but I'm fairly relaxed. What's interesting is that GS didn't sell any of their book position in ITV to BlackRock but instead went into the market to bid up for shares instead !

Yep, they've increased by their position by 0.49% which is roughly give or take 20m shares in ITV. And the total of all those large 'of no material relevance' trades last week, yes 20m ! Mates rates at its very finest !

just watching a bit of guy martin on ch4 good programme ruined by the bloke narrating it with the most irritating voice in the world .there a few programmes on telly lately with these people that sound like they have throat cancer or something along them lines.

Stan, my point was that the FTSE100 was down 0.29%, ITV was down 2.32% which is 8 times the drop of the FTSE100 index.
