I am hopeful this is just a chance created by Blackrock to increase it's position.
Possibly taking advantage of a fragile market?
When you have an existing large position it's more than possible to create a low volume fall in August.
As good a theory as any!
Ever hopeful.

I predicted a fall in the share price to 110p on 15th July when the share price was 124p, we reached 112p before the share price bounced to close at 120.90p only a week ago Aug 13th. If we go through 110p, we could be looking at 100p. I hope I'm proved wrong, but it's not looking good to say the least.

netagreed, lets stick to what we know for certain and avoid all the unfounded speculationIF - big if - itv does the business and its future looks good the market WILL reprice it upwards

What we know for certain:
1. There is huge demand for NEW production (ITV have that)
2. Advertising revenue is growing again(ITV have that)

Theoretically the price should be gently rising.

nigewhere does it say itv must always rise and fall with the ftse by the same percentage?there are and endless amount of reasons for the disparity and it takes a long time for these to work throughin the short term it could be anything from bets on itv falling into the ftse 250 to someone in the know thinking itv are going to overpay for c4 etc etcthe only thing that matters is the long term view and itvs future is by no means certain relative to the competition whose subscribers measure in the hundreds of millionsand they are just getting started

Stan, to be honest I don't know why ITV are always harshly punished on down days. Like I say in my previous comment, the market could be up by the same amount of yesterdays losses, yet ITV won't recover yesterdays losses. I'm surprised you haven't noticed this before now?

nigeif by the market wont let it rise you mean due to some kind of manipulation you really are barking up the wrong treeif you mean itv is a business that the market sees in long term decline then you might be right and you should consider your investment

Supply & demand Stan. Logic would say if there are more buyers than sellers the share price should rise. Before yesterdays UT at close, ADVFN & LSE were both reporting that the buy volume was slightly higher than the sell volume in ITV. So no reason for the big drop.

hadesof course people have a clue why itv fell so much, people were willing to sell it down to those levelswhy should itv fall the same as reach and wpp?do the same people own similar quantities of wpp, reach and itv?of course notare the businesses identical?is the ownership profile of those stocks identical?of course notdid a large holder in itv spot a better opportunity on the day, did 1000 small holders take fright....etc etcendless amount of reasons for the disparity, the original point was that itv was somehow treated unfairly and not for the first time, which of course it was not

I think that you're right Hades, even the newspapers don't have a clue, to blame 4.15% share price fall in the share price on a £3m investment is ridiculous.

If the FTSE100 index was to recover all of yesterdays losses of 1.5% today, I would bet that ITV would not regain it's 5p or 4.15% losses today. It never happens. It would take a week of gains for ITV regain it's 5p losses. Some shares are unloved by the market, ITV are one of them. Without a takeover bid I don't see ITV recovering any time soon, the market won't let it. Yesterday was a prime example. one step forward and two steps backwards.

Friday’s Daily Mail blames the fall on their announced investment in Feel Holdings!
The fact is that no one has a clue why it fell so much when other advertising stocks such as Reach and WPP fell 0.5% and 2.4% respectively.
People on these BBs don’t like admitting that!

Stan... "companies most sensitive to what people think is coming will always get sold off more and vice versa"

Yes I take your point Stan, but today there were more shares bought than sold in ITV, yet the share price gets hammered.

earlier tapering was rumoured beginning of this in the week but us market shrugged it off, now that its been mentioned by fed today the repricing has continuedmkt has to sell off on such news, close time didnt allow itv to bounce backirony is even with tapering fed starting sep, fed will still be supporting mkt this time next yeara slowing economy affects all companies differently and with itv very reliant on advertising it will always be shoot first ask questions lateri think uk/itv will be ok and xmas just round the corner - 2022 should be something like normal, mkt should start pricing that shortly....i hope :)

Sorry not clear.

Yes always happens.
Let’s hope we recover something tomorrow?
Only Vodafone in my portfolio held up on 175m traded.
No idea what’s going on there but wish ITV had the same strength!
Perhaps Ivan might know if it’s GS or maybe it’s just the 6% plus dividend yield that’s protected them?
US markets recovering nicely but UK just couldn’t make it back!
Praying for bounce here tomorrow - This time yesterday everything looked so good back above 120p!!!

Once again the FTSE100 index goes down 1.5%, ITV goes down 4.15%. I expect that ITV will underperform the index but 4% is ridiculous.

ivanwho are you trolling this time with your brexit remarks, hades?why cant you just address a poster instead of your continual carping, the points made to you have been reasonable and all the more so since you try to talk in riddles half the timei cannot tell you how much it amuses me that you tripped yourself up recently by breaking your not unreasonable theories to that point into multiple mutually exclusive conspiracies, that you have been unable to back up in the slightest
