stan..From experience I think that MM's are operating massively in the daily trades of ITV. They have a large amount of the float to do it with.

I cannot tell you who is the force behind it, but what I do know is when a bid comes, the share price will surge, hence the reason to supress it.

We are at 117p on Friday's close on a low volume day, watch what happens Monday. The DOW closed up 144p, so barring anything bad over the weekend we will see the same down a tenth up a tenth as they trade incestuously among themselves.

It is my opinion.....I reckon that when that bid is imminent, we will see several days of upward movement to 130-135p and then when the news is announced it will fly to 200p or more.

That is my take on what is happening,

stagok understood, thanks, its normally pretty obvious when someone is at it, matthew never set my radar off, but then he agreed with my point of view when imminent bid speculation was at its most feverish ultimately i see nothing odd in itvs trading patterns, although i can see why people think there is more to it, with itv struggling to be ftse100 share, there will be down drafts and up drafts as speculators and manipulators bet or try to force it their waythe shenanigans involved in these borderline shares will be incredible around reshuffle time as those who must sell and those who must buy face off

Adam Crozier is a great appointment.
He follows in the footsteps of Sir Christopher Bland ex Chairman of the IBA, London Weekend Television, Governor of BBC and lastly chairman of BT 2001-2007.
I wouldn’t read anything more into the appointment - no more ‘red herrings’ please.

matthewif i may jump on this...i recall your original post as you mentioned us trading desk/adr experiencethe only thing i agree with our resident x-files fans on is that there was a day of high and a day of exceptionally high us volume - what are your thoughts on that?thanks

hades1, I think it is part of a troll's agenda to mix it. It is obvious on this thread and several other threads I read, that there are posters using multi usernames. I am not going to bother naming them, it would be a waste of my time and energy.

I have to laugh at the time and energy such people waste to give themselves a little boost.

It's all very sad really, but do what I do use your filter, I have three on this thread filtered and another half dozen over the ADVFN boards.

Having said that, there are many good posters who provide us with information on ITV, thanks to all of them.

No those are long done. As I’ve said before , large trades booked after the close are give up trades for hedge funds booked out by their PB (broker). Nothing suspicious & normal market practice.

A trade of 3,487,000 @115.722 was reported after hours on the LSE official website and not on here. Maybe that's the last of the FTSE re-shuffling trades ! :)

ITV closed up 4.95p @117.15p on the week. First week in 5 to go up. Have we put a bottom in? I hope so.

And the good news keeps coming, ITV.com website just updated :-ITV Hub records most successful month ever

July 2021 was ITV Hub’s most successful month on record, with 93.3 million consumption hours viewed (a 221% increase on the previous year) and a record number of monthly active users (a 119% year-on-year increase). Plus 219m live streams throughout the month.

The return of Love Island for the first time since early 2020, England’s gripping journey to the UEFA Euro 2020 final, plus both Emmerdale and Coronation Street debuting the week’s episodes as a boxset on ITV Hub during the football has meant that the service has drawn the biggest number of active users ever, and viewers are watching for longer with a record number of consumption hours.

ITV Hub+, the ad-free subscription version of ITV Hub, reached 567,000 subscribers in July - its biggest subscriber number ever and a 16% year-on-year increase.

Rufus Radclifffe, ITV Managing Director, On Demand, said:

“We knew this Summer was going to be a big TV moment with the most talked-about events on ITV, but these figures show just how successful ITV Hub has been in bringing those ‘can’t miss’ occasions to viewers. From live viewing of the Euros to catching up on last-night’s Love Island and making sure not a minute of the Soaps is missed plus all of our Drama and Reality boxsets, it's testament to the work of the Hub team that more people than ever are using the service.”
