Obviously ITV can buy FUTURES (not the shares) and thus do not need RNS (I think)...
(just a guess)...

Well, if the share price is going to rise over 10% in a day without the intervention and bulk buying by Morgan Stanley then that speaks volumes.

Morgan Stanley have been asked to spend two hundred and thirty five million pounds of ITV's money on buying back shares. Whether they are at 70p, 90p or 120p I don't think they will be bothered.

There will be a few pi's that might sell under a pound, but the majority will IMHO sit tight until we are well over 120p a share. So where are Morgan Stanley going to buy the shares if not many want to sell?

No buyback RNS!

Either:

It’s late

They forgot

Technical issue stopping it

They didn’t start buyback yesterday knowing price would shoot up on well received results. They are market timing!

Or something else.

"ITV will announce any market purchase of Shares no later than 7.30 a.m. on the business day following the calendar day on which the purchase occurred".

Still 18 minutes to go!

Sorry my prediction of breaching 70p yesterday was incorrect (the profit taking at 3pm scuppered it), please accept my apology. However we will today and next week should be good with broker updates/director buys etc. It is similar with Reach PLC which went up another 10% yesterday.
I must admit, I think profit taking at these levels is silly. Basically, next year the total dividend will be increased to 6p and interest rates will be down to 4%, which on one measure gives a share price of 150p.So why not wait a year and double your money?
I think the buybacks will be closer to 6% of the company's share capital(average buyback price 100p) as who is going to be selling their shares at this low level?
I've never before seen a buyback last so long(to Aug 25), probably because they think that they can't do it quicker.

The Dame failed terribly . But pulling a stroke on the shorters, and in essence, the holders too in one go, will not go down well in bear city

This will be annihilated

Time to start trading the fall in revenue, the coming big fall in revenue, and the shorters going to 6% with this opportunity offered

They will be confident. The stroke pulled a few days ago was desperate.

And they will prey on it to this time next year.

@Vlad - give it a rest. Do you think that the more messages you post the more investors here will capitulate and sell their shares to prop up your failing short positions?

I’m embarrassed for you mate.
