The volume that mattered today (for the buyback , & any day going forward) is the order book volume. It was 13.4m shs. The buyback will be a small % of that. I’m guessing the rns will say 1-1.3m shs tomorrow). We’ll see.
Today was voluminous , most days won’t be , so expect that buyback number to fall significantly. As I keep saying , it’s passive.

Revs down 10% next financials

If there really was a buyer waiting to pounce as some have suggested for a few years now, wouldn’t these buy backs force their hand a bit? If they keep patiently waiting they’re only likely to have to pay much more and struggle to get it through.
If no bid comes very soon (I’m not expecting one) then I think we can put that one to bed for a while. At these prices it’s probably for the best.
I’m looking forward to tomorrows RNS to get a feel for the buybacks.

Was a good stroke days before results, but watch short tracker rally from 1.75 to approx 6% for it in next 2 months

EssentialInvestor, they are not cancelling the shares. That would have increased the EPS and therefore the DPS and actually given shareholders some extra cash back for holding long term.
