Recruitment is always a good pointer but the foundry, good old fashioned bricks and mortar trump it [IMHO]. This facility is absolutely pivotal to executing the strategy; to meet ST orders, have the capacity to win more and secure new growth market opps.

From the cheap seats, this looks like a business that is very serious about its future both as a leading global semiconductor manufacturer and innovator/incubator. Worth celebrating a UK Co successfully transitioning the entire R&D cycle.

Let's hear what has to be said at the AGM. FWIW I think one or two eyebrows will be raised - in a good way.

Good find, MF - stories like this reinforce the view that we're on track for the growth that lies ahead. Link to the online story here:

No reply from Sweeney as yet MF regarding the 150p. If he does get in touch, could you ask him why, with all the good news that he's been bombarding us with, he's reduced his AGM target from 225p?

Sweeney: "Cheap as chips under 185p and 225p by AGM day."

I certainly would welcome 150p by AGM day. GLA.

We know the first phase of dev at the Newport foundry is very much on track, if not progressing ahead of schedule. I expect a fairly detailed update on this...and there is much that can be read into it.
It is clear work has been expedited, but doubly pleasing to see a complex project well planned and well executed. Goes without saying that this considerably de-risks IQE's ability to deliver / meet the anticipated order ramp up in the next 6-12 months. Most encouraging.

Hard to do a tour of the facility without giving clarity on how many machines are operating, when they were commissioned, what's going on in that room, how many more machines are on order etc. I would have thought it easier to give a trading update before the AGM to get all that info out in the open.

MAIN MARKET

I can't help wondering whether a move to the main market would be beneficial. Plus500 announced they are and their share price has jumped today. Maybe a question for the AGM day.

They'll provide updates when there is something to update us on.AGMs are very rarely price moving days and in fact often turn out to be anti-climatic to anyone expecting news. They aren't allowed to reveal anything price sensitive not already disclosed via RNS.

I can't go to the AGM but am told that there is a speed of production dial. If someone can check it is turned up to 10 that would helpDave, I thought you said share price would be 150 by results, no?

Pi0110, adejuk... Please, stop now.

The iii thread on IQE has descended into petty bickering from 2 or 3 individuals to the point where it's a waste of time reading it.

Let's keep some kind of standards here, please?

hxxp://www.compoundsemi.com/lidar-market-see-43-cagr-2017-2023-according-yole/

Interesting article here about the predicted cagr of liar in coming years, and perhaps most interestingly the evolution of lidar which will move towards 'fixed' solutions as opposed to the 360 degree rotation approach that we see today with moving parts. I would hope the new devices still use compound semiconductor materials...
