08/5/2018 13:52 | Such a fight for 120p going on. I think I momentarily saw 119.99p | thecrunk
08/5/2018 12:09 | rivaldo, Thanks for that info . The "world facing" camera could potentially use a much greater VCSEL wafer area per unit vis-a-vis the Face ID (presuming the design is within eye safety regulation limits). From the recent IQE results: -- Potential for strong growth in 2019 and beyond -- Increasing VCSEL adoption for 3D sensing expected to accelerate across multiple smartphone OEMs, introduction of world facing 3D technology, and first deployment of LIDAR and several other high volume sensing applications | maxwellsdemon
08/5/2018 11:51 | Back to the 145p range folks in no time -- it's all posed and the news is filtering down !!!! | potential
08/5/2018 11:44 | Snippet from this morning's report by Edison about Nanoco - imo NANO is overvalued, with little upside for some time to come, but the viewpoint is apposite to and mentions IQE: "Research and Markets estimates the global image sensor market was worth $14.19bn in 2017 and forecasts that it will grow at a 9.75% CAGR to reach $24.8bn by 2023. The biggest single growth opportunity within this category is the introduction of 3D sensors in the 1.5bn unit per year smartphone market. We have seen the inclusion of first-generation 3D sensors in front-facing cameras significantly boost the financial performance of the likes of IQE and Lumentum. This adoption curve still has a long way to run, especially given their expected adoption in the rear-facing camera as well as the front within one or two generations of devices. The commercialisation cycle in automotive is longer, but similar technology is expected to be widely adopted for use in LIDAR laser detection systems for automotive safety and autonomous driving systems." | rivaldo
08/5/2018 11:36 | All the oscillators are now neutral or buy and all the sub 50 DMAs are positive. First time in a long while, can't see what stands in the way of another quick move up | mad foetus
08/5/2018 11:33 | Thanks mad feotous I will put it in my diary. Although I will have probably transcended my human form by November 5200. Doubt I will be worried about share prices by then | thecrunk
08/5/2018 11:23 | When does one think it will break 120 | thecrunk
08/5/2018 11:18 | i expect the shorts to close in a steady fashion before the agm. they are not burning - they have made a bloody killing. coltrane increased last week | adejuk

08/5/2018 08:17 | Sweenoid. IIRC There was an article that there is (or will be) mobile trackers on cattle to assist farmers in locating and/or spotting inactivity(sickness) So get cracking on equiping your newbies :-)... though your view from window will beat radar spots on a phone app any day. :-) | dr_smith
08/5/2018 07:11 | I'm Sure all opinions welcome :-) EBIT in Auto sector is >30% it's a bloodbath in Mobile and computing........GaN hxxps://www.just-aut hxxps://www.mckinsey That would put annual sales for automotive semiconductors in the $39 billion to $42 billion range. In fact, market research firm IC Insights forecasts that the automotive semiconductor market will be the the strongest end market for chips through 2021. According to the firm, automotive electronic system sales are forecast to rise by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.4 percent from 2016 through 2021. hxxps://semiengineer A trend that will continue in 2018 is the rise of the smart, autonomous car. As consumers and regulators demand more capability from automobiles, semiconductors have become the most critical part of these innovative solutions. But these chips, designed to bring safety and economy to the car’s operation, also bring complexity and higher requirements for reliability, requirements that have not been seen in other consumer segments like mobile devices and personal computing. | senor_sensible
07/5/2018 21:52 | Introducing Project Kinect for Azure Published on May 7, 2018 Alex Kipman Technical Fellow - AI Perception and Mixed Reality Hello everyone! Microsoft Build is upon us once again. It’s my favorite time of year because it’s so exciting to introduce our developer community to the newest tools that will empower them to accelerate the world’s digital transformation and create the future. During Satya Nadella’s Build keynote, he introduced the world to one such tool that may sound a little familiar: Project Kinect for Azure. I wanted to take a little more time to expand upon this project, what it means and the role it will play in enabling developers to apply AI over the real world in profound new ways. What Satya described is a key advance in the evolution of the intelligent edge; the ability for devices to perceive the people, places and things around them. One of the things that makes Project Kinect for Azure unique and compelling is the combination of our category-defining depth-sensor with our Azure AI services that, together, will enable developers to make the intelligent edge more perceptive than ever before. The technical breakthroughs in our time-of-flight (ToF) depth-sensor mean that intelligent edge devices can ascertain greater precision with less power consumption. There are additional benefits to the combination of depth-sensor data and AI. Doing deep learning on depth images can lead to dramatically smaller networks needed for the same quality outcome. This results in much cheaper-to-deploy AI algorithms and a more intelligent edge................ See also Microsoft Keynote : | maxwellsdemon
07/5/2018 18:53 | Lumentum up 5% today. I hope IQE will start to pop soon. Can't see why it won't | thecrunk
07/5/2018 17:39 | LITE up today, over 60 now. IQE has a bit of catch up today but the technicals are all starting to move in the bulls favour | mad foetus |
