16/5/2018 17:34 | Just sat through an awesome 'Future of the car summit' in London. Presenter was Padma warrior - ceo, USA of NIO (google if you don't know) she mentioned numerous times the importance of semi conductors and partnerships for automotive and automobility companies over the next decade. Automotive industry won't evolve in the way they all want without them. Hopefully iqe can get involved early | ojh2kent

16/5/2018 13:45 | AGM’s are rarely accompanied by ‘news’ , however good questions have to be answered honestly ... and I plan to ask some good one’s ;-) As far as the reactors are concerned, your question is aposite. I think as for the 4th June the most optimistic observation would be that the 5 installed reactors have or have very nearly finished their qualifications, ready for production either at that date or very soon after. It would be an added bonus if they have taken delivery of the next batch of 10, although I think that highly unlikely. Who is going to be at the AGM? S | sweenoid
16/5/2018 13:32 | Can the board of Iqe , mention that they have ordered more mocvd tools at the AGMif that was the case?.If so we might get a surprise. Or would that have to be a RNS | grity
16/5/2018 10:49 | Hi APHRO, looks like you are beginning to be taken seriously. From hopetown on iii: "Aphrodites" on ADVFN reckons he has a hedge fund source in Hong Kong which believes IQE will be taken over very soon. Anybody agree/confirm?” Your 220p takeover target is 'interesting' - just 5p less than Sweeney's 225p by AGM day on 4th June. Should we get seatbelts on, just in case we're about to go into orbit? | regasclockwork
16/5/2018 10:34 | AGM is on the 4th June. I think there is stand off going on between exhausted sellers and buyers due to absence of any news/update, otherwise it's the royal wedding. Market sentiment and outlook is great so no other reason in my opinion. | solderflux

16/5/2018 09:34 | Aphrodites I would simply love you to be correct :-) S | sweenoid
16/5/2018 09:33 | Too soon for a takeover IMO and I see 300,000 (sq ft of) reasons why IQE will be able to fend off any hostile approach. This new, mega foundry is on track possibly ahead of schedule. The next 6-7 weeks should concentrate minds... | paradores
16/5/2018 09:05 | Aphrodites - why does your hedge fund friend think that there will be a takeover of IQE soon? Does he have any evidence for it? Also everyone is here to make money and that's what the shorters were doing. Most are unwinding now due to strong information and sentiment. The exception to this were Muddy Waters / Shadowfall who were manipulating for their own rewards. | flashmob
16/5/2018 08:41 | I think the point made earlier about backing R&D is an important one. How often in the past have we seen the UK innovate but fail to back the brains behind the invention with local, commercial execution. We should be well proud of what the local enterprise dev team have delivered and continue to achieve with the creation of this 'catalyst' production 'hub' in Newport. Beyond the Q3 2017 Inflection Point we're about to enter the kicker 'Compound' [pardon the pun] growth stage, and that stage is very nearly set. What a time to be short! 16/5/2018 08:03 | Would make sense, there were rumours about SoftBank looking some time ago, with their trillion pound war chest. | mad foetus
16/5/2018 07:57 | Contrary to Sweenoid's view I believe my contact in the Hedge Fund in Hong Kong is correct when he told me recently that in his opinion IQE will be taken out very soon. And I wouldn't mind betting T. Rowe Price will be part of a concert party in the acquisition. I do not think their recent purchases has anything to do with buying back the stock they have lent. More likely they want to put a squeeze on the shorters. If a takeover approach occurs at say £2.20p there will be a panic by the shorters to buy back their shorts. But if T. Rowe Price at the same time calls back the stock it has lent where do the shorters go? They either chase the price in the market to get stock and pay higher than £2.20p or their only other alternative is to pay a penal price to borrow stock. It has been known that to borrow stock in such demand has cost 1000% overnight. That would really hurt the shorters. T. Rowe Price could teach these shorters a real lesson for their deliberate action in acting together at times in a concert party to destroy IQE's shareholder value. It can have them by their balls and don't they deserve it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | aphrodites
16/5/2018 00:10 | Agree Solderflux, everyone is out to fleece PI's, in a well orchestrated scenario. That is the market take it or leave it.Some win most lose. | berber1
15/5/2018 23:20 | PI cleansing in my view! | solderflux
15/5/2018 23:10 | I am no expert either, I think both Ipavlou and Cheek are correct ie T Rowe Price loaned out the shares and started buying them as well when the price was crashed, and now started getting back the loaned stock. They still have loads left on loan, see B1 section. Their overall holding is now over 14%. What a way to go!!! | solderflux
15/5/2018 23:08 | You are not removed from the register of owners when you lend shares because you still own them. And you can ask for them back. | 1mthead
15/5/2018 22:43 | I've got to say that I'm no expert and I've come across numerous companies in the past that are heavily shorted but I've never seen an RNS from the true owner of the lent shares, saying they are back. IMO these RNSs are for new shares being bought but happy to be corrected if I'm wrong. | cheek212
15/5/2018 22:42 | If the guys right in the video-we are quids in :-) S | sweenoid
15/5/2018 22:22 | Sweenoid: Thank you for the background information on T. Rowe Price and their history with IQE I am not sure if Ipavlou's explanation is correct. Are shareholders 'removed' from the register if they loan out the shares. I don't know. Does anyone know for certain? It would be interesting to know if T. Rowe Price are adding new shares or if this is just a return of loaned out stock. | bocase
15/5/2018 20:45 | I have a different view. T Rowe Price are now getting the shares they loaned out back, hence the RNS. They are not buying new shares. I suspect we'll see the short positions reduce by the end of the week. | lpavlou |
