1st graphene
My comments about graphene- how MANY times do I have to repeat myself, it's boring for me and it's boring for everyone else

My comments are NOT MY thoughts, they are a reiteration of what the IQE CEO said at the AGM in answer to a specific question about IQE's interest in graphene.
So it's NOT me saying they ain't interested-it's the IQE CEO!

As per blueflam above-I thought this video on face ID was superb



I see Broadcom are likely to put in a bid for Qualcomm over the weekend-wow, that would make them totally top-heavy in terms of reliance on the smartphone market. Little relevance to IQE other than the fact that M&A activity continues apace. When IQE had a low share price ( sub £) I was really concerned that an acquisitor could buy us dead cheap, the present share price would mean that any potential bid would have to be £2 plus to even be considered, which is nice :-) ;-)

Sweenoid - I too was surprised at how firmly you insisted IQE has no interest in grapheme. They certainly showed interest in it several years ago, judging by google searches.

(I hold shares in VRS, so grapheme's vast array of uses, including within high tech devices, is an area of almost constant news - especially since the long overdue establishment of proper international standards 2 months ago (ISO/TS 80004-13:2017), since when a lot of users disappointed by poor early offerings are looking again, bigtime)

Sweenoid: You reiterated in an earlier post that IQE had "no interest repeat no interest in graphene". However, reading page 13 of IQE's 2016 Annual Report reference is made to IQE's ongoing commitment to certain projects including "Graphene for RF electronics." One of my associates works in the graphene sector and confirmed his company have an electrically conductive composite for RF shielding. Do you have any comment on the potential value of this additional opportunity?

Been an interesting week as far as the share price is concerned. Plenty of buying and plenty of selling. Traded at 160.5 this week so made a new (recent) high. Shame it failed to hold but bound to tempt profit takers/shorters but that's the name of the game and we started the week at around 142p so has to be regarded as very good week.

I would take 7% rise every week. Thank you to Sweenoid and others for sharing their knowledge.

Bit of a doodah day today. AAPL deservedly making hay with a top target price of $235. MM's playing it cautious which at least dampens the volatility.
Good likelihood of PR in the papers this weekend so next week bodes well.

ade - I started an Aixtron (AIXA) thread - but haven't found a suitable self-update chart for the header there. Their website chart can be seen here:

The share price has trebled in the last 6 months and still climbing.

(For them as didn't know - Aixtron supplies production equipment to IQE and others)
